I love pride and even prefer it over ufc, but whats up with them having beltholders have non-title fights like all the time? and I dont get the point of Hendo vs Wandy?
IMO if a beltholder gets beaten by someone inthe same weightclass then they lose the belt to that person, period. The only exception that i'm completely fine with is the grand prix.
Hendo vs Wandy should be an exciting fight... but i still don't get why there fighting each other when there not in the same weightclass, unless there gonna make wandy cut weight and let hendo pack it on. Seems like a semi-pointless hypematch to try and up prides fan count in the US

Well, in their first Vegas show Pride made sure to include an American in the main event (Coleman vs Fedor). I guess their marketing department thinks that Americans will only show an on-going interest in Pride if there's Americans competing in their events, even if it's not for a title and not even technically the same weight class. Chalk it up to Pride marketing

The above is true in terms of business, but the Hendo-Silva rematch is one alot of fans have been wanting to see for a long time now.
I think it is almost a lose-lose situation for Pride as both fighters are one's that will be important to their marketing strategy in America, Dan being a homegrown Champ and Silva, well as it's Silva. One of them has to lose and if it's Silva it takes away further for credibility of the LHW title belt, whereas Hendo will lose respect before he even gains it (in America) if he ends up getting KO'd.

Ahh, so this IS for the belt. I was not aware, just know Wandy as a middleweight and Hendo as a welter. Thx for the correction

Middleweight Championship is on the line. Hendo wants to prove that he is a top calibur fight at almost any weight. He as said at the press conference in LA that he wants both titles. The reason lil' Nog isn't facing Wandy is because Hendo is American. Pride wants whatever Americans they can get to put on US PPVs. I will definately enjoy this fight.

Totally agree Non-title matches belong in the WWF

i dont understand Pride for the single fact that instead of putting on the best show they put in an american fighter that might not necessairly belong in the event

EW hendo = dead by boot to the face If you mean face stomp they are outlawed in the US. I think Wandy by 3 round decision.

Hendo has proven he can hang with anyone, but his chances of standing and trading with Wandy are nil
