Since the announcement of the Affliction promotion a few months ago, everyone from fans to fighters to other promoters have been watching the new organization with great interest as to their business plan for the mixed martial arts industry.

Not too shabby. I see this being 2nd after UFC someday, and I also see more fed-up UFC fighters heading to Affliction. Come to Florida Affliction plz cuz UFC never does :)

I'm excited for any forthcoming MMA event, but would be more so if they had more fighters under contract.

Do they have anyone signed that isn't fighting on the 19th?

What about UFC 42, Ortiz/Shamrock 3, UFN 8, and UFN 10?

I see Coture v. Fedor in early November. I don't think it's a coincidence that it's November. I think they all have an eye toward that. If Tim gets beat and Fedor does happen to win, that's the HUGE mega fight that would put them on the map big time.

Bottom line is unless they showcase SOMETHING on free TV, they have no chance of nipping at UFC's heels. Free TV creates the fan base, then you nail them with the PPV. Putting EVERYTHING on PPV puts us righter back where we were with boxing and wrestling. I WAS a big boxing fan, and when I was a kid, a wrestling fan, alot of ppl were. When they started putting every fight and wrestling match worth seeing on PPV, they lost their fan base to make a dollar. I don't want to pay 40$ to see my favorite fighters fight, nor should I have to. Dana was a genius when he pointed this out, thats why UFC is where it is today.

I'm not complaining that Affliction has their events on PPV for now, it's the only way for a new organization to really make money, but if thats where they plan to keep it, they're in a sinking boat.

Could have rothwell/andrei fight for the title on whoever wins tim/fedor.

could also sign tito ortiz and have him face babalu
