No stranger to fighting on short notice, UFC welterweight Anthony Johnson (5-1 MMA, 2-1 UFC) was recently forced to adjust his training schedule. The UFC moved Johnson's bout with Kevin Burns from UFC 87 on Aug. 9 up three weeks to the newly announced UFC Fight Night 14. But Johnson says that's just fine; the results will still be the same.

Johnson discussed the upcoming bout while a recent guest on TAGG Radio (www.taggradio.com), the official radio partner of MMAjunkie.com (www.mmajunkie.com).

I like this kid.....reminds me of Melvin Guillard a bit. I hope he cans start picking up the ground game though or his time as a UFC WW will be short lived.

He's a real beast and a real future threat in the WW division. I'd love to see him reach an elite level. His striking potential is amazing since he has a sick reach, power, and speed. His sprawl looked good against Speer too and that especially is great since WW is full of great grapplers. Some real serious potential. I think he'll definitely win this next fight and hopefully he goes far!!

I'm not really a fan of the way he says things like "he's gonna know he was beat down by a black man" in the same way I wouldn't like a white fighter saying the exact opposite when asked about their black opponent. But digressing from that; he definitely has potential to turn some heads in the division.

I was thinking the same. I just hope he backs up what he has to say and doesn't make endless excuses for his losses (like a certain Mr Guillard ).
