I didn’t even watch that fight on tape yet. I was there, but that fight didn’t impress me much. Shogun wasn’t the same. If I watch that fight and try to go off that fight, I’d be misled because Shogun wasn’t 100%. If Shogun was 100% and fights like he normally fights, that would be the fight to watch. Heck, Shogun’s girlfriend could have beat him that night.
…
Things happen. I think Shogun took the fight with Forrest because he needed it. I don’t think he should have taken the fight on such short notice. I’m a fighter. I can tell how the fighter fought in the past and how they are fighting on that day. I could tell something was up with Shogun that he was hurt.

i like Forrest but i have to agree with Rampage. There were all sorts of things going on w/ Shogun in that fight and he didn't look like his normal self.

yeah that wasnt 100% shogun in the griffin fight, but its shogun's fault he took that fight injured, i dont feel bad, even tho hes one of my old school pride favorites i dont envy his decision to fight injured, griffin came in with the right plan to try to gas a fighter who wasnt at his peak, who knows what the judges favored up until the last 30 secs. maybe shogun would have won, knowing the popularity contests in the decisions griffin woulda probably taken it, i still stand by the thought that griffin would be destroyed by an injury free liddell, shogun, rampage or wandy

Wow, no one wants to give Forrest any credit? It's extremley rare for a fighter to come into a fight injury free, and if shogun had other stuff going on, he shouldn't have taken the fight. Props to Forrest for sensing weakness in Rua and taking advantage.

This is the real reason I dont like Page (well I dont hate him he just rubs me the wrong way) He shows very little to no respect for his opponents, past or present. He talked crap about Wandy who damn near could have ended his career with those knees to the head. And Shogun as Rampage says "whooped his ass" Rampage is a much different fighter, this i understand but he discredits everyone he as lost to. Its just a joke to listen to. I cant wait till he hops back in the cage with Wand. Obviously I would like Liddell to finally figure him out but I am just giddy to see Wand kill him again and bring him back down a notch.

Look before that fight Forrest was considered a good scrapper and not in the elite then he goes out and beats an elite fighter with a blown out knee and that makes him elite? I dont think so and I say he does have a lot to prove and Rampage is right. I hope Forrest takes it to Rampage but I would'nt be surprised if he gets knocked out. If Shogun comes back totally healed and healthy he'll crush the both of them.

I think rampage should be quiet. If your the UFC lhw champ with a blitzing loss to shogun, who just got owned by a tuff fighter, then he's gonna say shit like that. I hope forrest destroys rampage the same way he did shogun.

Forrest's shoulder was every bit as bad as Shogun's knee and Forrest still whooped him. I'll be vindicated in a month when Forrest is wearing the belt.

if shogun's knee was "blown out" why was he shooting on it, and shooting farely well the whole fight? Forrest has a solid chin. He get's ko'd once and everyone doubts it. His problem with jardine is he got rocked, and instead of protecting he got angry and kept coming forward. I guarantee that won't happen again. Forrest by round 3 sub because he'll out-pace Rampage.

I like Rampage as much as the next guy and I can stand most of his antics, but when it comes to fighter bashing I feel a line has been crossed. I'm sorry you lost to Shogun and Forrest beat him weather it was an injured Shogun or not, he is still a fighter. Forrest fought a hell of a fight with Shogun, and I think he would have won a decision if it went to the score cards. Yes, I know Rua didn't look the same, but it's his own fault, if he didn't feel like he could beat Forrest on that night he wouldn't have fought. I'm not down playing a torn ACL I have had one myself and no way anyone should be fighting with their knee like that. Forrest came out head strong though and worked him he executed his game plan I think he did a hell of a job. I hope Forrest works Rampage over!!! I know everyone hates on tuffer's, but someone to enter into the UFC and to do as well as he has, means he's got something goin for him. Forrest may not have one punch ko power, but he is a non-stop fighter and will pressure Rampage the whole fight and I think that will be his key to getting that belt, that and keepin his chin tucked in lol. WAR FORREST !!!!

Why are people making it out like Shogun was in a wheelchair before the fight? Shogun gassed bad at the end of the fight plain and simple. Forrest wore him down and choked out someone that was only submitted once 4 years before by a guy called Babablu. Give Forrest some credit, he proved himself to be a top ten fighter.

Downplaying Forrest's win over Shogun is the same as telling it how it was.
