In the most recent issue of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer intimated that there may be more reality programming on the way from the UFC, in addition to The Ultimate Fighter:

"UFC is going to do a new reality show. I don't know the details of the show itself, but my impression is it involves Matt Hughes in a big way."

Hughes would seem an excellent choice for the new reality concept. Hughes's career has benefited greatly from his two stints as a coach on The Ultimate Fighter.

TUF should end soon because they are loosing rating and talent in fighters, dont get me wrong though i like TUF, but i dont know if its doing good anymore. A new reality show might be better after the many seasons of TUF

i agree with you completely. the reason there is a lack of talent is because they do too many seasons. i know they have to for spike to make money and all, but if they did less, the talent pool would be a lot better.

I think Zuffa and Spike have an agreement to make at least ten seasons of TUF......

It really is getting to the point of losing sight of bringing on or bringing back good talent and more of what sells ratings. How many more episodes do we have to watch about a bunch of drunken guys busting up a nice house???

This is the stereotyping that a lot of fighters are trying to disassociate themselves with.
If you’re a fighter than you must just be some dumb Neanderthal.

I mean really at this point can we get a show that gives us more of an insight of what the fighter had to go though to get to this point, what does this business do to the family? What kind of person the fighter really is.
No, we get here’s an open bar, tear up the joint and fight in the morning.
I can just go to one of my family reunions to watch that action.

It would be inspirational to show the fighters life outside the ring more. Give new fighters an idea of the total picture of what a fighter’s family has to go though as well as the fighter.

Anyways off my soapbox before I fall off. I think I am going to go put on a football helmet and see if I can put my head through the wall.
I can’t remember where I saw someone doing that, but it seemed really cool.

And this next season comeing up with Mir and Nog as coaches is not going to go well at all these two guys are not appealing to the public and will deffinatly slow the show down.

Pity it didnt benefit his fighting.

Must say, I agree with the opinion TUF is getting stale. At this point, I just tune in for the last half hour to see the actual fight & skip all the frat house bullshit.

Kinda agree Mir & Nog will make dull coaches, too. Nog moreso than Mir. At least Mir has alot of exp in front of the cameras (WEC), but Nog doesnt even have a good grip on English if I recall correctly...kind of a prerequisite for television (MTV excepted). Almost seems like scrapping the bottom of the barrel. Oh well, tune in for the fight & who cares, eh? :-p

I think TUF would do a lot better if they concentrated strictly on the fighting and not the reality TV horseshit that you have to sit through for the first thirty minutes....

Stardom ruined Hughes as a fighter, but helped his bank account.
