As expected "The Ultimate Fighter 5" winner Nate Diaz (9-2 MMA, 4-0 UFC) will meet veteran Josh Neer (24-6-1 MMA, 3-3 UFC) at UFC Fight Night 14 in September.
MMAjunkie.com (www.mmajunkie.com) was the first to report the fight, which has now been signed, according to graciefighter.com, home to Cesar Gracie's training center in Pleasant Hill, Calif.

Should be a good fight. Neer has the edge standing but Diaz has it on the ground; it's close though. Neer does have 10 sub wins. Neer actually lost to Nick Diaz by kimura at UFC 61. So i'll go Diaz by kimura in 3rd.

diaz was not that impressive in his win over pellegrino. he was losing until he sunk that triangle. neer is no joke. i don't think anyone should be counting neer out of this one.

Pellegrino knocked him out. Watch the video again, when he's in the crucifix he's unconscious.(he was also out on his feet) Neer is going to smash him.

One more Submission win for Diaz.....Of course he will probably take some punishment first, but i see him ending the fight at end of rd 1 or early in rd 2....

Should be a real good test for Diaz... Neer is very big for a lightweight so we'll see if Neer is able to impose his natural strength advantage on Diaz. For some reason, I think Nate will take some punishment and then win by another slick submission.
