Wasnt Gomi recently working out at Xtreme Couture? That would be a big announcement if they signed him. That or I guess the signing of the Ultimate Warrior of course.

The UFC is buying Affliction and killing it just like they did with Pride and we still wont get to see Fedor in the ufc because his contract will be up after Banned.

the more i think about it....i think it will be the Global PPV thing he's always talking about, if its that it would be a major dissaopointment, hopefully is the TV deal though

I have to go with the flow and say it is going to be a network TV deal, the UFC will do a much better job than EliteXC at giving MMA mainstream legitimacy. Dana White is an intelligent businessman and should never lead the UFC astray.

If EliteXC can pull 6 million viewers, imagine what the UFC could do.

Dana: "Guys, its true, I have male pattern baldness. I know, it's shocking! But I don't just bic my head for the look."
I was laughing at CagePotato's take on it:
I got it. It’s King Kong, isn’t it? That’s the big announcement. Zuffa has captured King Kong and will display him in chains in front of the world. Then when he escapes they’ll be forced to mend fences with Randy Couture just to get him to save the world. At first Couture won’t want to do it, but he’ll eventually become our reluctant hero while constantly griping that he’s getting “too old for this shit.”

In his interview he mentioned that it would rock the mma world and give a glimpse at where the sport will go in the next 5 years. I wouldnt think its a match or fighter signing. It would have to be something along the lines of a network deal with a major sponsor, or a partnership maybe.

I'm thinking UFC is taking all of WEC's roster from 155 and up and making WEC 145 and under... Maybe that AND a TV deal, and I think it'd be espn/ABC because the interview was with ESPN mag and was saying how no one knew of the announcement. I don't think he'd go on record with them about that if it was with FOX or another network. Anyone agree?

I was thinking aboutit further at work tnight and I still think it could be a networ deal, but I was thinking it may be the same thing this guy is thinking. Maybe they are going to make the UFC HW, LHW, MW and WW so they we see more fights from our favourite fighters and then make WEC LW, BW and FW. Or something along those lines.

I dont know if you guys have heard this but Floyd Mayweather just retired. Could it be possible that the UFC has signed mayweather? That would definately be a mindblowing announcement.
This would also make his comment that it shows where the sport is moving in the next 5 years make sense. Having the best athletes from the all the combat sports in the world trying to compete in mma and not just their respective sports would definately be a change that shows how the sport is growing.

Maybe we're giving Dana too much credit... His announcement will probably be that they are coming out with ufc gummy snacks... I'm still so let down from the Budweiser announcement, I have yet to achieve orgasm ever since
