You ever go on wikipedia and then you go non-stop from one page to another since you find something you want to go deeper in on every page? Just happened to me. I watched Freddy vs Jason on the USA network which led to me looking up if they were going to have a sequal which then led me to Michael Myers page and then Hellraisers page. Then it brought up the big question. "Who's the greatest horror movie killer?"
Rank your top 5 for me please...I got...
1. Jason 2. Freddy 3. Chucky 4. Leatherface 5. Pinhead

i 100% agree. in all the horror movies with killers that are not supernatural, i tend to be less afraid as i always imagine myself locking in a choke . if it is just a man, then you can take him out just as easily as he can take you out which isn't scary.
to me the scariest horror movie character is Jake Tyler. the way he singlehandedly out cheesed Ralph Macchio while at the same time scorning MMA forever is just plain supernatural to me

Check out an Australian movie called Wolf Creek.
It is based on a true story of a man who sliced up backpackers in the outback in Australia. Thats what makes it worse. If you have not seen it you really need to rent it!!!
I really enjoyed the Saw movies and Hostel was way out there.

Yeah, but supernatural demons don't exist so wouldn't that make them less scary than a person that might actually exist, despite the fact they can be taken out.?

Obvious tossup for me-Aliens or Predators. (I'm not really a horror movie person. I find them boring and too predictable)

1. Jason and his Momma. 2. PUMPKINHEAD. 3. the Sawyer family from Texas Chainsaw Massacre. 4. army of living dead in all of Romero's movies 5. pinhead
I kept my fav's for horror movie series , if we are talking single films I think there are MUCH over all greater villans/ killers.
See:
The makers of the CUBE. Father and son in Frailty, Things from Descent, crazy bitch in High Tension and many more.

for me no. i feel that i can defend myself pretty readily so i don't tend to fear them. all i have to do is just tell myself they can't handle my JJ . plus, when you watch a supernatural horror villain you get swept up in the world and for those moments you think it is real...only unstoppable.
for example, after watching the ring i couldn't turn my TV on by myself or answer my phone because i had watched the video. keep in mind i was 10 at the time.

Anything with Bela Lugosi, Boris Karloff, Lon Chaney, or Lon Chaney jr. But Jason always had a place for me becasue I was born on a Friday the 13th.
