I also heard that goldie was offered big money to replace JR in the WWE but turned them down so he must be doing something right

It's only because of his voice, Goldie would not have his job if he didn't have the voice he does......Fact.

Hate to break it to you, but Goldie was the first play-by-play guy for the Wild in Minnesota, far from minor league hockey ... and he was pretty damn good at it.

I think the biggest thing that the UFC needs to do is have a consistent 3rd guy, who is or was a fighter (Randy was great at it), with Joe and Mike. I think Joe knows his stuff, and I enjoy listening to him.

Some people don't seem to acknowledge that Goldie is the play-by-play guy, and he should lead the broadcasts more than commentate on the fights. Without a third man, it puts a lot of pressure on him to go back and forth with Joe during the match. Not saying that he should make some of the mistakes that he does, because when you are leading the broadcast of the biggest promotion you should be well versed enough.

All I'm saying is he is good at what he does, play-by-play, and a third guy with knowledge who could go back and forth with Joe during the actual fights would eliminate some, if not most, of Goldie's screw ups.

Minn Wild is major league? I had no idea. If he was so good he should go back to it. He's no good as an mma pbp guy.

I hate Gold's announcing. He always talks too much and just trys to fill space. Eighty percent of the time when he tries to talk to Joe, Joe doesn't even answer because he just says things that don't need to be said. His fight knowledge is minimal, he always plays stupid asking Rogan questions, and not to mention, he repeats himself over and over. That and everytime someone gets hit they got "rocked". Mike has gotta go.

it is sort of a screw up but it's not really that big of a screwup. He was most likely referring to CroCop's OWGP victory and just worded it poorly. Sometimes it's better as an announcer to make a minor mistake than to bumble your words trying to correct yourself.

Yea, at 87 he said MacDonald has only lost to Rich Franklin and Yushin Okami. Then he said Yushin Okami has never been defeated. It made me laugh cause he just mentioned the guy who beat Okami, Franklin.

HE said another thing that I couldnt believe when two guys were on the ground but I forget.

Goldy tends to screw up his Pride facts more than anything else. Like saying CC was the former Pride HW champ when he was talking about Kongo.

OWGP =/= HW champion Goldy.

*EDIT* And I know for a fact I'm not the only one who can't stand the "AND IT IS AAAAAAAALL OVER!" as if we can't see the ref waving off the fight, or the tap.

UFC 89:

Goldy - "He [Paul Kelly] knows that Marcus Davis is the toughest opponent ever!"

Goldberg - "Remeber he's (Jardine) been knocked down 4 times in his career"

Joe - (Laughs) "You with your wacky statistics"

Goldberg - "Ah you give me some new toys I'm gona use 'em"

Joe - "What?"

Goldberg - ".............Remember Vera was upset with the stoppage of the fight in London........"

Rogan - "Keith Jardine may very well have an injured left knee"

Goldberg - "Yeah let's watch yeah he's kinda, kinda limping"

Rogan - "Well he always moves that way though"

Goldberg - "Yeah you know"

Rogan - "It's hard to tell when that guy's hurt"

Goldberg - "So he looks tired and hurt but he's not tired and he's not hurt!"

Goldberg - "But, but the thing is that new level of conditioning which maybe Vera has never had just has given him you can see so much confidence!"

Rogan - "Well Vera had excellent conditioning at Heavyweight"
