this was an outstanding event. the highlight of the night for me definitly has to be Wanderlei showing he is still The Axe Murderer. What a show put on by him. Also, BJ picking Sherk apart the way he did was phenominal. The rest of the fights were great too. this was no question the best event of 2008 so far.

here is what i wrote in another thread:
I loved this card. it is the card of the year so far imho. o thought every fight was entertaining...yes even the Machida fight. The KOs were ridiculous and the KO Wandy had over Jardine was just brutal, as well as a perfect punch landed by Carwin. Palhares displayed some of the most beautiful JJ i have seen in a while as that armbar transition left me breathless for a few moments. Anaconda chokes are my second favorite submission, and to see WM go limp to one was just spectacular. I'm a little mad the Nakamura had to call it a fight because of what appears to be a leg injury, but even still i am content. Reljic displayed that the left high kick is inbred in all Croatians and Thiago Silva was able to recover after a shaky start. And the way BJ Penn just picked Sherk apart was just beautiful to watch. This card was climatic, technical and action packed in what i think is one of the better UFC's i have seen to date.

one of the most exciting cards sans machida's dance of boredom do we have to have him on the main card? if he gets a title shot i'll be sure to have a pillow or a good book handy

good fun times
seeing tito slap a triangle to a arm bar almost made me shit my pants, i kind of wish he could have pulled it off,
seeing silva dismatle and knock out jardine quick
flying penn knee to sherk than running up to him and licking the blood off his gloves in front of him, penn is insane
some good fights, can't wait for the dvd in aug

This card was decent at best. Though I have to say Props to the UFC for showing as many fights as they did. I always thought paying $50 for a PPV was lame if you don't get to see all the fights.
P.S. if Shane Carwin would have put more power behind that punch I think Christians mouth guard would have left the Octagon !

I liked the card alot, it was worth the money.
BJ Penn and Sherk box three straight rounds with neither backing down. Tito almost steals a win from Machida with 30 seconds left (Holy **** that was crazy) Wanderlei couldnt have showed Older Wanderlei any better. He destroyed Jardine. I was alittle upset with the Relchic fight because I picked him then changed my mind but regardless it was good to, went back and forth. Carwin did really good, I happy about that. The one fight with the rear naked choke to armbar was so smooth it was crazy. Thaigo Silva obviously owned. Lol, me and my friend were like "It might as well be like the price is right show where they call a guy from the crowd that no one knows and Thiago scores a 1st round victory African Assasin had trouble with what my called "the pudgy japanese business man from some sushi bar." He almost relived Mirko's fall.
Great card, prob best of the year so far for the UFC

I don't see why everyone is so down on Machida. Sure, he doesn't have the most exciting fights but to say he was running away is a little farfetched. He wasn't pulling a Kalib Starnes out there. He's just a good technical fighter who jumps in with his kicks and punches and then gets the hell outta the way before he gets hit. Plus I enjoyed the hell outta Tito getting so frustrated. The man is unbeaten and no one can argue with that. He had to do something to win those fights than just running away. Not to mention a KO over Franklin!
