This is a great match-up for both fighters, but for different reasons.
Judging by the way Heath had problems with Kongo on the ground I only see him having much of a chance working him on the feet. Lesnar has the edge in wrestling for sure, but Heath has enough experience that he will not just sit there and do nothing on the ground.
Once (if) it goes to the ground I am think Lesnar by lay and pray, UD. But look out for a potential knockout by Heath is Lesnar doesn't choose his shots carefully.
Yep, and let's not forget that Herring just got done training for a while with Rob Kaman. I'm sure his standup will be light years beyond Brock Lesnar's. Look what he almost did to Kongo

Yup and I just realized that my post probably had the worst English I have written in years. The lack of sleep is clearly affecting me.

I'll put my money on a repeat of what heath did to Tom Erikson back in the day... But without getting taken down first... Either that or he'll more than likely get F*****... I hope he does good...

This is a really tough one but I am gonna have to take Lesnar in the 1st by TKO . The reason I'm leaning towars him is because of the way he man handled and dominated Mir right away. Lesnar got submitted by a great JJ guy and I don't think Herring's submission skills are near Mir's. Lesnar is just too strong for him IMO.

Yet again, everyone is questioning Brock's cardio, I guarantee all of you he will not gas, now before you laugh read this, and don't laugh afterwards either lol.
WWE (DON'T LAUGH ) requires some serious physical skills NO MATTER how FAKE it is. Those matches of running around and jumping off things and lifting heavy people went on for 15 or 20 minutes sometimes and Brock was fine (and that's without breaks in between rounds). Now he is in better physical shape than he was then because of his disgusting training regiment. This guy does the same caveman training as Sean Sherk and when was the last time we saw Sherk gas?
NOW to the fight. Herring has far far more experience than Lesnar but I just don't see him being able to keep this fight on the feet, which is most likely what he needs to do. I'm taking Lesnar by first or second round TKO, haven't decided. There is always the possibility of Lesnar getting caught in a submission but I think after his first fight he will be more wary of that occurring.

My god dana, the ufc may as well throw lesnar 1-1 straight into a ufc title shot !! The ufc are really trying hard to make brock lesnar an mma star, why is herring fighting a nobody mma fighter, where is the gain from a win over brock ... ??? Explain you guys, why is brock lesnar a threat to an experienced dog fighter like herring ??? The ufc HW division is going no where !!!

You are right about one thing, Heath Herring has nothing to gain and everything to lose from this but nonetheless he accepted the fight. BUT you can't just say "Oh he's Brock and he's no danger" look at the style match up. He is definitely a danger and since I like the guy I'm happy they are at least putting him against good fighters unlike Kimbo Slice over in EliteXC who keeps getting cans. If you don't consider any guy as big and strong as Brock with good wrestling at least a little danger then you need to re-think how you decide who will win. I'm not saying he's the next Couture although he has the physical talents to be, that doesn't mean he will. But you have to admit that he matches up well with Herring and that is good for Brock.
And by the way telling us to explain and then assuming your point is a logical fallacy so you haven't proven anything either. You have given no reason for us to believe Brock isn't a threat instead you just say he's new, which means nothing, simply a light personal attack, "ad hominem".

i love Heath Herring. Just let me get that out of the way. The man takes a beating, throws punches, wrestles, he does everything in at least an above average way. He's fought the best, and put on a show every time (and lost every time). That being said, i see him just getting smashed. That's no shot at Heath, it's just where's he gonna train against that level of wrestling in the Heavy weight division? I hate Lesnar and his extreme one dimensionality but when it's at the level his is it works against the competition he's been given. Lesnar's gonna wrestle him down within 10-15 seconds and just beat and hold him down forever.
Now when it comes time to pick. Heath Herring Rd 2 Sub by RNC and i don't care about what anyone else says (btw his last win by sub was 5 years ago...)

lesnar 1rd tko. i see this fight going the same as the last where he runs across the ring walks over his opponent and administers that sledgehammer with a glove repetivly.

heath has been in there with some of the best fighters in the world. the thing that brock in his fight with mer was raw mat XP. i think herring could pull if off but it is going to be a feat for anyone to beat lesnar.

I'm really not sure who I'm picking in this fight. But, I do know that if Lesnar can beat Herring convincingly, he immediately becomes a legitimate MMA Heavyweight.
Herring is no joke. This is a huge fight for Lesnar. I don't see any way that Herring can keep this on the feet. I think the key is what kind of skill has Lesnar developed to finish the fight once he gets the takedown.

Guess I will be the odd guy out. I am going with Herring. heath almost beat Nog in the UFC and he has alot more experiecnce in fighting then Brock. I dont think its that great of a matchup for Brock. We shall see though. I think alot of people are still riding the thrashing Brock was giving Mir before the submission but lets face it Mir has not been the same fighter since coming back from his injury. While Herring hasnt looked great in the UFC I think the guy has alot of potential. I am pulling for Heath.

Even knowing Brocks gameplan I don't think Heath has an answer to Brocks strength and wrestlinf.
