Just for fun, I put together a list of the ten fighters with the highest overall point totals in the Fightmatrix.com ranking system. As expected, most of the fighters on the list are heavyweights or light-heavyweights; the only fighters below 205 to make the Top 10 are Anderson Silva & Georges St. Pierre.

1 Fedor Emelianenko
2 Quinton Jackson
3 Anderson Silva
4 Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira
5 Randy Couture

i don't usually like computerized rankings, but this one does a good job, and they can back up every single one of their ranks.

I find it interesting, but I'm not quite sure how it works. I have read all the details but I find them to be vague. For example Keith Jardine's ranking below Chuck Liddell when he just beat him. Or Quinton Jackson's ranking in this list when he's only recently dominated top opponents (Hendo, Liddell)

Re: Liddell ranked higher than Jardine. When Jardine beat Liddell he was ranked (slightly) higher. When Liddell beat Silva, he gained enough points to push him over Jardine, while Jardine has been inactive. There is only 9 point difference between them and Jardine once again will be ranked higher should he beat Wanderlei.

Re: Rampage on this list. Liddell had a massive amount of points at the time, Henderson was fairly high as well. So beating those two back-to-back given him a huge boost.

Here is what the 205 looked like a year ago, before Rampage beat Liddell & Henderson

Thanks

Makes a lot more sense put in that light. Somehow I had overlooked Liddell beating Silva Not sure how I did that but I guess I can attribute it to a brain fart.

As for Hendo being worth a ton of points I can definitely understand that considering he was ranked in a top 3 p4p list by a lot of people at that time.
