That was a horrendous display of striking. My god. Is the striking instruction in the US really so bad that these guys looked like they had never even taken a Muay Thai or kickboxing class?
No footwork, no variation in punches, no KO power due to sloppy technique, no parries, no blocking, it was horrendous. My faith in MMA striking takes another hard blow.
Who else was shocked by this?
EDIT: Also, Patrick Schultz over using that damn right overhand haymaker and Cale never caught on to dodge and counter. If Schultz tried that with me I'd step out of the way and batter him, and I'm a lightweight!

Did expect much from either man.. Cale was the least impressive winner in the fights for beds and Shultz got brought back. Neither are UFC caliber guys

it may have been some of the sloppiest i have ever seen, even on tuf. that gave mike nickels vs. matt hammil a big run for its money.

Schultz was soo predictable with the overhand right he threw it over and over again and the the straight kick that Tim Boetsch uses(teet). It was a horrilbe fight IMO. Not only that but afterwards Shultz told Forrest "Get back in the corna Forrest I cant wait till your fight with Rampage." Thats so disrespectful coming from a guy whose done nothing in this sport, and just lost a fight.

Ya that was definately sloopy.Schultz threw that big right over and over again to the head and body and how Cale wasn't expecting it and easily blocking it I don't know.If Schultz wasnt so sloopy with the big right he could have hit Cale with it all night and did some damage.

who voted no man? that striking was terrible! Ive had no formal striking training and even i could see every time schultz was going to throw that haymaker or when yarbrough was about to throw a kick!
The worst thing is, forrest actually says at one point yarbroughs ground game is none existant, id like to know who he trains with becouse if all he trains is striking he must not of been around for very long. Doesnt say much for schultz either considering he got controlled for over half of the fight.

2 people have voted no!!!!! It was a terrible striking display but they were the two bottom of the barrel guys. I seriously doubt they'll ever be a big impact in the UFC or MMA in general.
Although I'v no doubt any half decent Kick boxer or Mui Tie fighter would kick their ass!

Who voted no? To whoever voted that way, if you don't believe this was bad striking, I'd like to know what your idea of bad striking actually is!

I really dont mind watching any fight beacause anything can happen but man did i feel bad for Schultz, all he had goin for him was that right hand, dont get me wrong he has some power behind it but holy crap he kept throwing the same shot over and over it was horrible but but he did rock him a couple of times, wish yarbrough pulled out the KO would of been awesome !

First off, I agree that these guys do not have good striking.
The only question I have is, what does this have to do with being from the U.S.?
