The only one I havnt liked was TUF 4 and for good reasons. I think this season has been the least dramatic and has really focused on the fights. The past two episodes have had 4 fights and only showed the Jeremy May issue which wasnt long.
I do think they market certain fighters (Dollaway, Diaz, Mac, ect.) but why is that a problem? Its a great way for people to get to know some of the newer fighters coming into the UFC and allows us to see a TOURNAMENT style event (which everyone is constantly whining that the UFC should do.

Is TUF a little more amatuer than pro, sure. Are the great fights to watch every thursday now thanks to TUF, yes. I say let it stay. I already pay $40 to see big names, why cant I watch the low cards for free?

I still like tuf. but not as much as the seasons 1-4. Back in the 1st four seasons you really got to know the fighters, not just inside the octagon, but outside of it aswell. I like seeing them in the house and in the octagon. but the newer seasons makes it tough to get to know them. Its really hard to pick a favorite or who you want to win the show if you dont get to see every person the 1st couple weeks. its not as entertaining anymore, but I still watch it

The thing that really gets me with the new TUF is i think they are constantly changing too many things season after season. It shouldnt have to change in order to get more fans because this show is one of a kind, it already has a huge audience, pretty much every mma fan with access to sky tv watches it, so why change it ? Another thing that makes me laugh is the fact that the UFC have introduced " Burger king " as its newest sponsor. Burger king ... A fast food, high fat and high cholesterol company who specialise in making you a couch potato by eating their high salt & fattening produce...... Doesnt really fit in with the idea of muscle hard paced multi skilled fight machines who rely on supliments, carbs and protein to compete at the highest level in the cage. They got that message wrong .... !!!

How does goldberg plug that one in on the fight nights when they thank the sponsors .... " Burger king.. Go out a buy a burger, fat and salt are great, you wanna fight in the ufc, you must eat cheap shit minced cow brain and all the other parts that dont make steaks, with a super sized fries and cola !!! "

i think they should do only 1 season a year coached by camps like aka, att, couture, mfs,

and maybe have a season like season 4 have some heavyweights and lightheavy or something battle it out to come back to the ufc, not a title shot but something different,

I'd like to see the UFC use TUF as a way to introduce foreign fighters to a US audience. Not every season mind you, but devote a season to brazilians, asians, europeans and the like. Bring some more experienced fighters that don't have a name in the US.

Imagine if the had brought Cro Cop in through the TUF system... or someone like JZ. Nog's name recognition would be better right now if they had brought him inot TUF.

Since I havnt followed the show since it started I have no idea, Im not gonna take away from what its done for the UFC but I just dont like the show at all. I heard about it when it came out 3 years ago but the reality part of it turned me away. I finally watched an episode soon after it came out and knew I wasnt missing much. Dont need to watch 45 minutes of drama and talking about themselves and their lives when only 2-4 of them even make a career in the UFC or even MMA and 10 minutes of commercials leaving about 5 minutes of actually fighting.

They would probably have to pay the forign fighter more money. With the guys they got now they dont have to pay them crap.

I love TUF. There... I said it. It is my favorite show on TV by far. True, guys like Nate Diaz and Mac Danzig and obviously Joe Louzon would have made the UFC anyway, but think about the chances of some of the raw talent guys such as Josh Koschek, or Corey Hill without the TUF spring board. This season is shaping up good so far.

I am enjoying this season a lot. The more fights and the less drama from the contestants the better IMO . The possible Forest/Page drama does have me mildly intrigued however.

First things, first

I respect and acknowledge what TUF did for MMA, and I will try and never complain about free MMA....

But TUF is getting rediculous... They are showing more fights and less drama, which makes me happy... But there's some point where this shit really starts getting old...

Here are my two biggest qualms with The Ulitmate Fighter...

1.) The Ultimate Fighter is in itself a tournament... Dana White has been quoted saying that the best fighter never wins a tournament... What is that saying about his TUF champions... It's hypocritical and bullshit... Then to have TUF alumni take precendence in cards over proven vetrans is abismal IMO... When the sport starts catering to fighter popularity as appose to the quality of the fights themselves there is a serious problem.... And it makes a sport still struggling to gain widespread public acceptance look cheap and gimmicky...

2.) What other serious sport could you see a championship put on hold for the sake of reality TV and ratings? If I've said it once, I've said it a hundered times on here... This is the biggest steaming heap of bullshit, I've ever heard... Not only are we waiting on a TV show to see what's going on in a division.... The UFC seems absolutely tickled pink with themselves that they are giving us this "great" opportunity... Does no one else see this... THEY'RE FUC*ING US IN THE ASS AND WE'RE ARGUING ABOUT WHAT BRAND OF LUBE THEY'RE USING!!!! Once again this makes the sport look like a fad... It makes it look cheap.... It will not garner respect from any serious sports media outlets... I had to wait to see Serra / Hughes because of a TV show.... I have to wait for Rampage to defend his title because of a TV show... Now we'll have to wait for Nog's first title defense for a half a year because of a TV show... It's fuc*in disgusting, and I'm tired of being a lemming...

Sorry about the novel and the harsh words...

I agree with you here. Delaying title fight after title fight is really annoying. I suppose if a particular division is devoid of legit challengers, giving the title a little break might not be so bad, but the Welterweight and Light-Heavyweight divisions are two of the most exciting. The delay in these matches has to have hurt overall fan interest. And the hype machine that was "Hughes vs. Serra" was a total bust anyway, in that respect. We might never see that fight, and if we do, none of us will care as much as we would have a year ago.
