The E:60 crew talking about Carano and MMA. These people have no idea what they are talking about, but at least it is prime time coverage.
Two parts

They knew enough to point out Tara LaRassa is way better than Gina. Not too bad I thought.

I really don't think that Gina uses her sexuality. Maybe I'm crazy but she's done some tame photo shoots for the companies that she's worked for and that's about it. Nothing really for those other girls to get all whiny about. While Tara might be a better fighter, she won't get ahead of Gina in the business because Gina has more intangibles that Tara lacks.

These other female fighters do have a point. The only reason Gina is the face of women's MMA is because of her looks (not that I'm complaining ). Obviously Tara is by far the better fighter. I don't think anyone would question that. I just think there is a really simple explanation why Tara is so negative towards Gina. It's called jealousy. The only reason Tara doesn't like Gina using her looks to market herself is because she can't. At least not as effectively as Gina. Here's my proof:
Tara Larosa
Gina Carano
It doesn't take a genius to figure out which one the media would want to focus on.

ESPN has to have an angle to it, I dont feel that Carano has been questioned much by fans and MMA media but they need to put a spin on the story. Kind of silly but it helps the sport to get coverage. If the women's side grows then eventually the cream will rise to the top. Gina should be admired and supported by other female fighters for helping them be able to do this.
