Also on a side note did anyone notice how much bigger Overeem looked ? He seemed huge to me.

Credit where credits due, Hendo did great. Wandy didn't look snappy, but I think its because of the rule set or maybe the massive pressure on him to show the US what hes got.

I like Hendo, so I'm not upset, and I think its good to mix up the middleweights again, as it sets up some great match ups. After Shoguns bout tonight, I bet hes the first to try for the belt, and I can't see Hendo being able to stand up to the young buck.

I don't know. Overeem seemed to be able to throw Shogun around. Hendo is much stronger and technically sound in throws and takedowns.

It was interesting that Pride didn't acknowledge his two losses in the UFC on his career MMA record, but felt the need to show his destruction of Rampage and Rampage's win over Chuck.

Also, I didn't realize Wanderlei was only 5'1"

What was even funnier was when he got KOed and they said it was the first time in forever or something.( it was his 2nd Ko loss in a row) As for Overeem/Hendo, I agree Hendo is a better wrestler and more technically sound than Overeem, but I think there is no way Hendo is physically stronger than him. I would favor Shogun vs Hendo too, but I am not taking ANY bets on that fight. Hendo is like Coutre, you just never know.

I was refering to real strength. Wrestling strength. Joe Rogan refers to it all the time. Weight rooms don't help with that.

I think the only reason Overeem can even get takedowns on people is because hes easily the largest LHW in the sport.

He may lose against Shogun, but I don't think Filho ( most likely challenger to me)will be able to LnP out a decision after seeing Hendo last night. Either way Hendo has a broken hand so probably won'y fight for 4-6 months. After last night i might pick against him, but I won't bet against him.

in response to pride not recognizing wandys two ufc loses: why should they hell the ufc thinks only there fights count and will never even mention pride or any other organization. they will say he fights overseas or in japan like its basketball in spain and the ufc is the nba. it bothers me to no end. i watched the fight and i picked wandy to win but was rooting for dan for many reasons. props to pride for giving us the fights we want
i agree with hippy that shogun will probably beat dan but dan can win that fight its not a terrible fight for him.

henderson will not lose both belts the next time he defends them! that is an ignorent probably emotional statement. he may be vunerable at 205 even though he is game but he is the best in the world at 185
anderson silva would lose to dan

Wanderlei seems very worn out. And his warrior spirit seems diminished. I really hope he doesn't turn into Pedro Rizzo or Vitor Belfort.

Hendo will likely defend his 185 belt next against someone who probably doesn't even deserve a shot like Kazuo Misaki. Realistically he should fight Kang or Filho.

I think Hendo has the 185 lb title on lockdown and NO ONE, not even Linland can stop him.

I see Shogun getting another fight in the Spring, then resting and challanging Hendo for the 205 belt in Fall. And a year from then Shogun and Chuck Lidell FIGHT FOR UNIFIED TITLE STATUS.........

i dont think Wandy will ever be the same again, not after back to back brutal KO beating he took.....it happens to everyone ....Rampage,Vitor,Loiseau(beating),Roy Jones Jr.,Mike Tyson,Fernando Vargas and many other Great Fighters/Boxers

im still shocked the Hendo actually planted his feet the whole fight and was willing to trade with Wandy!!!

Generally the UFC just ignores Pride at their events. Pride was making a point to say and show that they were superior to the UFC, except when refering to Wandy's overall record. It is one thing to ignore another MAJOR org, but to proclaim you are the biggest and baddest over and over to no end, it just gets old and leaves a bad taste in my mouth. Especially when they pick and chose only beneficial things. I know Millen and Dana have been behaving like school kids, but please keep it out of the events.

I'm no fan of Chute Box either, and will admit that I have thoroughly enjoyed watching Wandy get KO'ed twice in a row, but Shogun is the one member of that school that I make an exception to.He doesn't seem to share the cocky, thug mentality of the rest of his teammates.

That being said, I do think he is somewhat overrated, and while he is definitely one of the more physically and technically gifted fighters out there, I see him make careless moves in all of his fights and have noticed many holes in his game which largely go overlooked.I don't think I'll be taking bets on Hendo vs. Shogun, but I won't be rooting for one over the other.I think either of them make for fine champions.
