The state of Arizona recently passed legislation that will allow the state boxing commission to regulate MMA within the state. This new law will allow the boxing commission to use the regulations first introduced by the New Jersey State Athletic Commission that are widely know throughout MMA as the “unified rules” to sanction and regulate professional MMA.

One interesting thing to note here: This has to be a bit of a setback/embarrassment for Sen. John McCain because he hails from Arizona and now this "human cockfighting" he is so against is now going to be legal in his home state. Not until at least August though, although the bill was signed by the Governor it's at least 90 days before it goes into effect.

Yes! It is about time! We got Rage in the Cage out here so it is nice to finally have some UFC. We're gonna eat it up. It's one thing to pay for a ticket but another thing to have to travel to the location. I can't wait til we host a Championship fight! This is great news. ...I love human cock fighting

Great, maybe I'll actually start doing it now. Here in AZ, our local Rage in the Cage promotion (which runs about 12-16 shows per year) doesn't allow very many strikes, its very hard to ground in pound...but it was made that way to suit McCain which is from our state.
