apparently for failing to register as a sex offender. looks like he was arrested in 1999 for sexual assault on a child. he needs to be castrated and banned for life.

wonder what he did to get sex offender status... I'm not defending him in any way shape or form... but there are alot of things that get you that label that have very little to do with what people associate with them...
Take Paul Rubens for example... hes a sex offender and he just played with little pee wee at a porno theater...

if someone really feels like it, they could look his name up in the state he lives in's sexual predator directory. If they have one. I know NY, you can look up by name... It give you more description of the charge. So we can see what level of scumbag he is on. Pedophile or "She was 18"

classic example... doesn't have a clue what he has done and already has him judged... this is one solid argument against the Sex Offender database...
who knows what hes done... if you look at his fight history he did not spend any significant period of time away from fighting in 1999... so it would not be something like a child molestation like this mental midget thinks...
As i said before i am not defending him in the least bit but it can be anything from something as sever as child molestation or something stupid like a buddy pantsed him and some soccer mom over reacted... both get you put on that list. Because of that list you get criminals from both ends of the spectrum yet they all carry the connotation of some evil child molester regardless of what they have done... it simply shows the ignorance of society... quite sad actualy...
and again i am not defending what he did in any way i am just pointing out that most people that have posted here have no clue what he has done and are very quick to judge that he is a peice of crap and needs to die...
Think about it how would you feel if you are out drinking with your buddies and get panted by some clown and get busted for indecent exposure, its classifed as a sex crime and you have to register on the sex offender list, just like the guy who live in a basement and rapes 7 year olds... Don't judge someone because you know nothing about that that is the EXACT same as saying hes is a lesser person because he is black, white, asian, hispanic, ect. It just shows how totaly ignorant and close minded you are and YOU should be the one shot

well if you read my first post it says SEXUAL ASSAULT AGAINST A CHILD. it doesn't say indecent exposure or pissed off soccer mom. though you say your not defending him, you pretty much are. I have two daughters and if it was my daughter he would already have a bullet in him.
also it says he was arrested for failing to register. why would he do that if he wasnt trying to hide it

I did some looking around on this. I couldn't find any newspaper articles on the issue because its from so long ago, but I looked into the laws of the state and narrowed down exactly what he was arrested for.
The charge of "Sexual Assault on a Child" in the state of Colorado means he had had sex with, or molested a minor, who he was not related to, acquainted with, or in a position of power over. That term is somewhat of an unbrella term and can mean anyone from the ages of 14 to infant, and can include rape as well, although thats a heavier charge.
The minimum sentence is 4 years and the maximum is 12 with manditory probation after 5 years, if it was a rape, the minimum is 8 years.
Pat Smith fought regularly until the Summer of 1999 and didn't fight again until 2003, so he got a minimum sentence of 4 years, meaning it wasn't rape.
That means the chances are good that it was a molestation or concentual sex with a girl or boy who was 14 years or younger, when he was 36 years old. Being as it was the minimum sentence, I'd wager it was a 13-14 year old victim, as opposed to an infant, toddler or whatever, being as they would likely throw the book at him otherwise.
So, with that in mind, hes a scumbag. Are you happy now Tein_Leng?

Should'nt judge too much people. Some 14 yr old girls do look old enough for luvin and mistakes can be made. No-one on here has any real facts.

DENISON, Tex. -- A mixed martial arts enthusiast wanted out of Bryan County for failing to register as a sex offender was arrested Monday in Denison, Texas, by the Bryan County Sheriff’s Department and U.S. Marshals.
Patrick Smith, 44, of Durant was charged earlier this month for failing to register as a sex offender, but this charge goes back to March when Smith attempted to elude police for speeding.
It turns out Smith was convicted in 1999 in Colorado for sexually assaulting a 14-year-old.
Bryan County Sheriff Bill Sturch says Smith is currently being held at the Bryan County Jail. The case could soon be turned over to federal authorities.
