If Matt Hughes can beat Thiago Alves and then Matt Serra where does the greatest welterweight weight of all time go from there? will he or should he go for a shot at the title once again with GSP, another fight with a top contender, or as he stated moons ago a superfight with Anderson Silva, Your thoughts and own opinions.......

if he beats alves, than beats Serra, i think he retires, i think he knows he cant beat GSP, so he'll want to leave on the 2nd best note, which is after beating Serra.

A fight with Anderson would be interesting,if he decided to jump weight classes.Though I honestly think as of now he would be better off fighting Serra, and finding how much fight he's got left in him.Hughes is one tough dude, but his minds ben wavering on retirement since he was coaching on TUF with Franklin.

he needs to find the desire again...
Then if he doesnt get caught- as Karo did (Yes i believe Karo wins 9 out of 10 fights with Alves) then he should beat Alves- PS- prove me wrong Alves cause I like the guy- anyway- if he finds the desire then let him keep putting the up and comers in their place- he CANT beat GSP so why would he try to move up-
I still want to see Hughes VS Serra- Now thats a good match up and could go either way-

Hughes has been saying recently he's probably got 3 good fights left in him. Alves & Serra are 2. Dana doesn't like giving guys on their last fight for whatever reason title shots, so GSP 3 is likely only if Fitch takes the title.

Hughes would get so overwhelmed in a fight against Silva. I don't think he would be able to take Silva due to Silva's reach and height. If Hughes attempted to exchange punches with Silva, that wouldn't be too pretty of a sight.....

Yeah if he wins against Alves, then Serra I think he retires. A fight against Silva would be a poor decision. Anderson would punish Hughes I think. If he wanted to move up weight classes he would be better off fighting Henderson, although I think he would lose there too.

i think he retires after fighting serra(which i hope he beats serra) but fighting thiago is kinda mistake if hughes losses that's doesnt help him as the greatest WW of all time and thiago losses where does that put him with the title.
Cus im pretty hughes can't get back into title contention. So he beats thiago and serra and fights for the title and wins it and retires? not cool.
So I just hope thiago destorys hughes and then thiago fights the winner of gsp/fitch and hughes goes and beats serra via SUBMISSSION

It would actually be Hughes vs GSP 4
Would the UFC allow a fourth fight between fighters? Is it a policy not to? or is it just something that has never happened?

Matt Hughes and Rich Franklin are in the same fight camp, training with the same trainers. If Rich can't beat Silva then nobody in the Miletich camp can.
