I always thought Travis Lutter was an over the hill mediocre fighter. I watches the Silva fight over, then the Franklin fight and realized that I think he had amazing potential. His skills really are top notch. It's a mojor shame his dedication isn't at a championship level. The Frank Mir at middleweight.

Heh, Frank Mir at MW was a good call.
It's got to be tough to be a guy that mounted the last two MW champions and lost to both. He needs to figure out if he wants to be a submission grappler or MMA fighter, because 5 minutes worth of work isn't doing it.

Yea Lutters ground game is crazy. Rich getting out of that armbar was classic. Lutter vs Maia would be insane. The ground war in that would be something to watch.

It kind of seemed like Silva let Lutter take him down so that he could be lutter at his own game, but still Lutter looked pretty good on the ground with Silva until he got caught in the triangle.

Lutter's JJ isn't at the level of Maia's JJ and i honestly believe Maia would get him in the second.

i believe he did. idk how much truth is behind this, but Silva said he let Lutter take it to the ground so that he could catch him in a submission to avenge his training partner, Jose "Pele" Landi-Jons' loss to Lutter. in that match Lutter won by armbar and Silva said he likewise wanted to submit Lutter. again, take it for what it is worth.

he doesnt have the drive it takes to be a champion, he is just out there chasing checks. If he could into shape he'd be a dangerous fight for anyone, but Gassing after the first 2 minutes doesnt cut it.
