Well according to rich he was throwing his arm out to try and bait lutter into taking it becouse he felt he knew he could escape, he said he never thought he was in danger. Rich has got a very under rated ground game imo. I dont think theres anybody in the division he cant at least hang with other than maia. Mabeys almedia aswell but i think his jits is about on par with lutters. Travis needs to stop feeling sorry for himself and thinking hes unlucky, and build up some cardio and striking skills. Then he might be a legit threat. Till then, guys know all they need to do is last the first round and the fights over. Although for some thats easier said than done, theres no denying travis has one hell of a ground game.

If you're referring to when Rich said, "I was trying to give him a false sense of confidence.", then you didn't understand that Rich was joking. Rich knew he almost got caught. What happens to jujitsu practicioners is when they grapple, they stop when they secure the submission. They don't actually practice applying the pressure that makes somebody tap. Thats what happened. Lutter though that it was enough that he had Rich in that position and that he would tap. Rich didn't Rich turned his arm in the loose armbar and got out.

Na thats not what im referring to, im referring to an interview he did after the fight where he said his camp had studied the way lutter attempts arm bars and they where confident if he tried to lock one up rich would be able to escape. Im pretty sure anderson had the same plan becouse he managed to get a better position by giving an arm then getting straight out in their fight to.

Im tired of lutter saying he could beat people if they rematch, i really dont think he could and its just getting annoying to hear him say that crap. Like he can't hang with the contenders with bad cardio, striking and a good ground game isnt going to get him where he wants to be.

He said something similar about Anderson. Saying that he doesn't think Anderson wants to fight him again, and he would beat him the second time around. Rich schooled him in the stand up and escaped an armbar that looked pretty tight. Lutter is not on the same level as those guys.

im getting tired of this guy losing and saying he was so close to winning... he said that about silva cause he had silva mounted, fact of the matter is is that he wasnt hurting silva.... anderson was just kickin back waiting for travis to make a mistake and when he did he bucked and got out of that position with the help of lutter going for that sloppy armbar....now with franklin hes saying he was a half inch from breaking his arm, how could he be suprised that rich rolled outta it when he didnt have that top leg seccured over franklins head which gave franklin the room to roll, his mistake... he wont beat franklin if he fought him once twice or even three times more, franklins cardio is better and imo he is just a better fighter.

He did come close both times, I'll give him that and none of us should deny how he came alot closer than any other ufc fighter to beating him. The fact that he came so close is the reason he gets a top competitor like Rich Franklin. In the end its going to get drawn up as a loss for him, the fact that he came so close to beating franklin will give him another top competitor, but almost winning can result in a 3 fight losing streak and second exit for travis lutter. I don't hate the guy but he needs to train stand up, cardio, and better takedown attempts

Maybe Lutter didn't want to break Franklins arm thats why there wasnt enough pressure on the arm that might be what have costed him

Shoulda, woulda, coulda......blah, blah, blah

Hasn't he made excuses like this before.

He was beaten by a better fighter with a better gameplan and the actual will to win. End of.

It was a good decision to cut him from the UFC imo because of his bad attitude, lack of dedication towards training, conditioning etc.......
