ok Wandy couldn't get Saku in a clinch what makes you think Tanner could... Saku would take him down with a single and arm bar him 12.4 seconds later
In his prime Saku was the best P4P fighter in the world... serouisly who else could submit 3 out of every 4 gracies? and get a decision win out of the 4th

Sakuraba wins by decision. Evan Tanner was nowhere near the fighter Sakuraba was in his prime. Watch the 2000 Pride GP. Sakuraba has heart.

And Saku would have subbed Royce too if he didn't give up and throw the towel in, trying to save his image instead of being a warrior (imo throwing in the towel is the most cowardly way out unless your corner does it while your getting pummeled if the ref isn't doing his job).
Saku in his prime was unstoppable.

Saku would still be winning IMO if Wanderlai had not come along... IMO Sakuraba is still the best P4P fighter of all time... If the saku that beat the 4 gracies was to fight Anderson silva i would put money on Saku honestly... Saku was so unpredictable you could not train for what he was gonna do.. you think hes gonna stand he would take you down you want to fight on the ground he would punish you standing.. he was IMO the first complete mixed martial artist..... I do agree that Royce was a bitch calling it quits in thei first match after getting his legs beat on for 90 minutes he whould of verbaly taped himself instead of letting the corner thorw in the towel as if it was not his choise

Sakuraba was the lifeline in my opinion for Pride. You just don't find guys that could fight as well as put on a show without them looking bad. His performance at the 2000 GP is unmatched by anyone in MMA. To fight that long with Royce and then come back out and face one of the best overall strikers ever in Igor Vovchanchyn showed more heart than 3 Forrest Griffin's. Sakuraba win or lose in any fight should be respected for the work and influence he has had on the sport
