^ Ew and ew. I'm currently listening to Pestilence's Consuming Impulse album, if you're into early thrashy technical death metal check it out. Out of the Body= Greatest real metal song most metal fans haven't heard.

Did you say "ew" to Pantera? I'm going to go ahead and chalk that up to an accident, and you posting ew about Timmy's first post and the guy before him.
"The Philosopher" by Death. My friend Brian is a HUGE Death fan and gave me a list of songs to go listen to, and now I'm hooked. I knew about Death, and their sound in general but never really bothered to listen to them, and after all these years of not listening to them, I am absolutely in love with them. A must-hear for all metal fans.

Glad you discovered Death man! Great band created and driven by a great man, the music world lost a true visionary when my good friend and possible favorite musician Chuck Schuldiner passed of cancer on December the 13th of 2001. Scream Bloody Gore, Leprosy, and Human are my favorite albums, all of their stuff is worth owning though. The guitar and bass composition Chuck did is just out of this world on all of their records, so good.
I know it's not the most popular opinion but Pantera is a in small doses band for me. Good musicians but they just don't have a very original sound and don't stick with me like my fave bands do. Solid band, just not my favorite by any stretch of the imagination, definitely the best crossover band out there though better than Lamb of God and As I Lay Dying and the rest of that shite.
