I was hoping it was going to be Henderson and Franklin... it would have been the perfect way to hype the fight as well. Oh well, Minotauro and Mir are decent choices though. I guess that means the winner of Vera-Werdum have to wait a little bit longer than they probably expected for a title shot. There aren't a whole lot of challengers to the title right now compared to the other divisions so I'm sure they factored that into this decision. Both coaches have a lot to teach.

Am I the only one who thinks making Nog a coach would be perfect for Zuffa to put the HW title on hold while they work out the legal issues with Couture. They can't strip Couture of the title...and it would seem odd to have a defending interim match.

I would actually rather see the winner of Wedum/Vera be a coach, as Vera is the perfect matchup for Nog. IMO he is the only one currently in the division that could take him the distance...and I think he could possibly win a decision.

Well herring isnt a contender considering his record, Kongo is more of a contender and so is Werdum and Mir. and then Arlovski if he was resigned would get the title shot.

I agree about Arlovski, but how is Kongo more of a contender than Herring...Herring just beat him

you beat me to it gart, Herring almost beat Nog as well, before the Sylvia Nog fight...besides man, records don't tell the full story all the time anyways

This garbage is absurd !!!!! Frank Mir? I know the guy is a special jiu-jitsu guy, but The guy barely beat Brock Lesnar, an average MMA fighter at best ... and Minatauro .. .i could only see because of the fact that he has the interim title. Really, i think that they should just put a different weight class fighters like they did this season with LHW coaches and MW fighters. The HW division is trash.

I don't know, I think UFC is giving itself to much face. Frankly I don't want to see the fighters coach I just want to see them fight. I don't want to see how they talk or act, I just want to see them fight. Dana White needs to calm down and take his face off TV, he is starting to get annoying if he hasn't been already.

Well you're in the minority... "to much face" is what has made MMA go mainstream w/ TUF.

I love to see how fighters act... it makes their wins and/or loses that much sweeter.

Mir isn't even close to deserving a title shot.

They shouldn't have champions coaching of this show.

I think Mir is a good Tv personality so I'd hate to see Nog smash him at the season finale.
