An unofficial source tells Cage Potato that the coaches have been signed for the next season of The Ultimate Fighter, and they are none other than UFC heavyweight champion Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira and former champ Frank Mir.

take it with a grain of salt.... but it almost seems like it would make since

man thats gonna be great if it does happen, its not like the HW division is stacked right now, so they could use some time off so that the title picture becomes clearer. But man the coaches will be great, both are so knowledgeable

EDIT: here is the link LINK

That would have to be the two most talented coaches to date if so. I really wouldn't be able to decide which team i'd most like to be on.

I agree with Juanez though, this is probably the best decision the UFC can make right now since their shallowest division is going to be up for a main event come August or September. At least now they can hold off until maybe Oct/Nov.

I don't know, I think UFC is giving itself to much face. Frankly I don't want to see the fighters coach I just want to see them fight. I don't want to see how they talk or act, I just want to see them fight. Dana White needs to calm down and take his face off TV, he is starting to get annoying if he hasn't been already.

solid coaches, but im sure there waiting to see is Mir beats Mccully, before its official.

This will put the HW title on hold for awhile while the division trys to get more contenders and stuff.

This makes so much sense

IF it was sooner and neither had to fight again before then, the UFC literally CANT give Mir a title shot if he beats McCully and Big Nog really needs to defend soon, but the only real contender is Herring before the winner of Werdum/Vera

Well, I could see these two being coaches more than I could Rampage and Forrest...no offense to those to. Every time I think about them coaching it cracks me up.

Well herring isnt a contender considering his record, Kongo is more of a contender and so is Werdum and Mir. and then Arlovski if he was resigned would get the title shot.

Am I only person that thinks this makes no sense at all? It should be Vera/Werdum and Nog as the coaches. Were the heck did Mir come in? Yeah Mir is a good coach and trainer, but he hasn't deserved a title shot at all. He beats a one dimensional kickboxer with no ground game, he beats a one dimensional undeveloped wrestler with no sub defense, and now he gets a title shot?

I would like to see him beat Kongo or Herring before he even comes close to a title shot.

Wait....does this mean that Nog is going to fight Mir after the series is over? Lets look at the track record, liddell and couture did, shamrock and ortiz did, gsp and hughes did (even though he wasn't an official coach that season), penn and pulver did, serra and hughes were supposed to, and rampage and forrest are.....common sense tells me mir and nog are fighting for the interim.

it does make alot of sense, since the division is in shambles right now. i didn't see big nog defending his belt anytime soon, they will wait till mir beats justin then probably annouce it in the cage after. the finale would be in vegas in dec,
i still don't see mir pulling out a win but it is nice to see mir back in the mix and all after his accident.
