CSAC executive director Armando Garcia is hoping to make amateur MMA legal in California by the end of the year. Currently, only "professional" MMA is legal in the state. The program, if approved, would likely start in December or January '09 with stricter rules for amateur fights.

Dam its about time. Oregon has been having armature fights for quite a few years now. I did not even know they were illegal in Cali.
