Hoping to make history for a second time, former K-1 World Grand Prix Grand Champion Mark Hunt returns to the ring tomorrow against the three-time and defending K-1 WGP Champion Semmy Schilt of Holland.

It's been five years since Mark Hunt last fought in K-1, but fightsport fans everywhere remember the New Zealand boxer's 2001 World GP performance, when he took the sport by storm. Hunt first KOed all three opponents to win the Oceania GP elimination tournament in Melbourne. Then, at the Tokyo Dome in December, he dispatched K-1 stars Francisco Filho, Stefan Leko and Jerome LeBanner to become the first-ever non-European K-1 World GP Champion...

I am glad to see Hunt back in K-1 where i feel he belongs. i am very interested to see how he matches up against Semmy as the giant faces the granite chin. i don't think this one is going to end in a KO although i hope it does. Can't wait for Mastodon or cmill to weigh in on this.

this is excellent news!
this is where mark hunt belongs, not that professional wrestling mumbo jumbo.

although i'd love to see mark hunt win this fight, i think schilt will take a decision away from him

Holy piss this was announced months ago lol. I do see this fight going the way of Sefo vs Schilt except Hunt will not be Ko'd and he'll win on points of bossibly a KO. If Marks out of shape he'll lose via UD.

I think Hunt will have a nice defense for that. There are so many variables for me in this fight, we haven't seen Hunt in K-1 for a few years, but if he brings what he can, then I think he has the style to take Semmy out. You can't give Semmy any time, he's to damn big and he'll pick you apart all night if you give him the time. I think Sefo, Hunt and LeBanner are the guys who can give him the biggest runs for his money.

I do think Ernesto would have been able to figure out some way to beat Semmy, he was rediculously smart in the ring.

Yeah I remember his last Fight with Bob Sapp and he knew he had to stay away from his Power so he Leg Kicked him to death.
