You know, its weird, whenever i think of james i always think of him as a 185'er. No idea why. I think it would be a good move for him right now. Theres no ways hes cracking anybodys top 10 at lhw any time soon, the divisions just to stacked, period. Theres some matches with really good potential for him at mw though. Matches against cote, mcfederies and leben would be barn burners and you'd think at least one of those fights would end with a spectacular k.o. Plus the divisions pretty weak, if he picks up a couple of impressive wins there he could be in contention pretty quick ala patrick cote. It would be a good move for him and the fans, imo.

Good points, it would be in his best interest for obvious reasons, as you mentioned. I think the cut will be tough for him, as he is pretty big at 205 and he used to fight at HW. I f he does move down, I hope he doesn't lose too much power.

Theres no way he can beat anderson but a move to middleweight would help the division as a whole alot. I'm all for it.

He's huge and ripped at 205...I don't think he could make 185. He looks bone dry at 205...

I don't think he could cut down to 185, but he could lose the real weight, at least enough of it to cut the rest. He isn't too tall for a 185lber either....only 1" taller than Rich Franklin. It could be a very good move for him as I don't see him cracking the top 10 anytime soon either. I do see him in title contention at 185 easy though!

I say if he can make it he should do it. He would have a great chance at least getting a title fight in the near future if he strung some fights together which he has a pretty good shot at doing. In the LHW division there is no chance of getting a title shot for him like 0.0000%. Not bashing him just too much talent. So MW would be nice for him again IF he could make it why the heck not?

Definately...in the LHW div he would need to go like 5 in a row to be in range of a title shot....and 5 really serious guys too, you've got Shogun, Chuck, Wandy, Forrest, Tito, Rashad, Thiago....just some real no shitters! Now in the MW div he could get there in 3 fights or so....just think....Nate, Rich, Yushin. So I would have to agree again with the weight drop....plus I would have another bit of talent to add to the lacking MW div (which is starting shape up nicely)!

P.S. He may have lost his mind calling out Wandy like that...calls him a walking punching bag...and says father time is catchin up with Lidell....I don't know if I would talk about those two guys like that. If Wandy said he wanted it, UFC would most likely give him that fight!

i smell a rematch with houston written all over this, maybe not but would be cool

wonder if hes serious when he says he wants to fight liddell or wandy? not a good move but hey when you want to fight you want to fight the best, so we'll see at irvin calling wandy a punching bag and would woop him

he totally pussed out against cane and faked that that knee hurt him when it barely hit him i'd like to see that rematch, i dont see him going that far in the UFC, definatly a better move for him to leave, a move back to the WEC or Dream, EliteXC etc
