Manny vs Cox started off with a rather cheap shot by Manny...I've said before I dont really care if fighters touch gloves or not...but to fake it seems kind of cheap..
what are your thoughts on the fake glove tap.

I dont care if they do it, but if one guy puts his arm up you should slap it and back off. Didnt remember that but thats a huge cheap shot. To me thats as bad as an intentional low blow.

touching gloves should be saved for before or after the fight
there was a SICK KO posted recently that justifies my statement....if anyone knows where its hiding please let me know

I don't like the idea of touching gloves after the bell rings. There is no written rule you have to do it so it can be confusing. They should touch gloves before the bell if both fighters agree to it or not at all if they don't agree with it.
I go by the rule "protect yourself at all times" but I think Manny just made himself look like a cheap bastard by faking the hand tap and going for the kick. It's not against the rules, but it doesn't help his image or the image of MMA. The funny thing is, the kick didn't do any damage so it's like he did it for nothing.
Manny would have been better to rush in and just kick.

If Manny wouldn't have extended his arm to act like he were touching gloves, I couldn't see a problem with it. However, he did and that's probably something that you are going to start seeing more of inside the Octagon unfortunately. I also don't want to make a mountain out of a molehill.

Well...I actually think it was one of those deals that Manny did fully intend to touch gloves, but he also wanted to start fast (like he always does).
He probably meant to touch gloves and just jumped the gun on the fast start (what I mean is he probably was going to touch gloves real quick and then start with a kick and he just went too fast with the glove touch and missed).
I definitely could be wrong, but I really don't think Manny had a plan to be cheap there...

That was pretty cheap. Like everybody says, the touching gloves should happen before the fight, but you cant pretend like your going to touch the other guys glove, then throw a kick. Fair enough if hed just circled away or threw a strike without looking like he was gona touch gloves, but that was cheap by manny.

To be honest, theres no rule saying you have to touch gloves or your not allowed to fake a glove touch, but its just disrespectful and cheap imo. I lost a great deal of respect for manny for attempting that.

It's kind of cheap, but he wasn't fully intending to try and knock the guy out with that shot, it was a side kick...
It wasn't like the boxing match where the guy just socked the other guy that was trying to touch gloves.

I really hope you are right. Manny seems like a very respectful guy...I hope/think he wouldn't do something as tasteless as that
