Kenny Florian wasn't supposed to be a fighter.

He was a smart kid. Focused, always smiling.

His parents, immigrants from Peru, preached hard work and education. That's how his father, Augustin, had become a surgeon. He wanted Kenny to be a lawyer. He also wanted his children to be able to defend themselves, though.

The Florians were essentially the lone Latino family in a neighborhood about 25 miles outside of Boston. Augustin had earned a black belt in judo and maintained a fierce loyalty for Latino boxers. Didn't matter if his man was 1-40.

lol i like the Thread title. LMAO

KenFlo is the most underrated LW fighter in the world!. the top 10 ranking on Playground have JZ, Stevenson and Melendez ahead of KenFlo, and IMO thats ridiculous. KenFlo took Sherk 5 rounds, subbed Robinson faster than Diaz. etc. once he wins, this will put him up there for a shot at the winner of BJ Sherk.

I'm a very big Kenny Florian fan and Kenny is very, very underrated as a fighter. I'm not sure enough people give him respect for what he has done in MMA so far. The guy took Sean Sherk 5 rounds and almost had him beat! The sad thing is I don't think he'll get the respect after beating Lauzon either. He needs a fight against Stevenson or another top of the line lightweight to get the respect he deserves.

i"ve liked watching Kenflo progress through his fairly new career. He has shown great improvments and working with DeLagrotti has its advantages.
