Dave Meltzer's article on the Le/Shamrock fight hints at some exciting future matchups for Cung Le:
Le talked after the fight about potentially defending his title against either 2006 Pride middleweight Grand Prix champion Kazuo Misaki, or Elite XC middleweight champion Robbie Lawler.

You know what .... I hope they do have Le fight Lawler too....he would get KOed in a heartbeat. Lawler hits way harder than Frank, and is more aggressive when it comes to throwing punches (which was Franks problem last night). Lawler would take most MWs around that aren't in the UFC right now. Hose, Baroni, Frank, Smith....they just can't stand with him. I think Lawler is ready to step back into the UFC personally, all the others I mentioned are NOT!!!

Cung Le vs Robbie Lawler would be awesome!!! thats one non-ufc main event i would go out of my way to see! Lawler hits hard and has some good standup, but cung le has excellent standup and is undefeated. would love to see this fight!

i wouldnt consider cung one of the best stand up guys, yet. No power, hangs his hands low, just mainly good with his kicks.
I think lawler would destroy him IMO.
im looking forward to lawler vs scott smith, than lawler vs cung.

i like le alot wish he was in the ufc, i think in broke in the top 10 middleweights with his fight last night. i see him fighting misaki next. the ufc really needs to pry some of these fighters away.

disagree, Le would destroy Lawler....with his MMa talent and skills...don't forget that Le is a world class martial artist...he is the world champion in kickboxing, he has been in war with many of the other world class martial artists, many of his opponents are fast and furious and Le beat them all...Lawler is no match for Le.(my opion) the only way Lawler can win is with a lucky punch that knock out Le...as fans of MMa we can see that in any MMa fight anyone can knock any one out with a lucky punch or kick..beside the lucky factor, Le skills are more superior than Lawler...
The only person that can beat Le right now is Anderson Silva...I think that Anderson Silva stand up skills will matches with Le, but Silva is more superior in the ground....

Le's graph is so on the way up!!!
He has more potiential than someone like Kimbo IMO.
Le is a very talented fighter, and would do well in the UFC compared to KIMBO!!!

I'd like to see Cung face Robbie or Misaki, they are all Stand Up Fighters so it's definatly going to be an Exiting Fight.

I'm looking forward to seeing him face top 10 opposition; but for the few that think he's already top 10, I disagree.
He has one win over an arguably top 15 fighter who hasn't beaten a top 10 fighter since 1999.
Let's not crown Cung too quickly; he needs to get in there with Lawler, Smith, Trigg, Misaki, Mayhem, or someone like that to get to the top 10 discussion.
