A Hawaiian-based EliteXC show tentatively planned for April 26 has been pushed back to June 14.
EliteXC Live Events President Gary Shaw first mentioned the possibility of the April event during a media conference call earlier this year.
However, according to fiveouncesofpain.com, the April show has been scratched completely and will be replaced by a June 14 date.
The organization has not yet announced a definite location or venue for the rescheduled event.
The June 14 event will likely feature a fight between highly ranked welterweight Jake Shields and veteran Drew Fickett. That fight was supposed to take place Saturday at the Strikeforce/EliteXC co-promoted show, but Shields pulled out of the event on Tuesday due to a back injury. Fickett could now be scratched from the event completely.
The June event will also feature a title fight between EliteXC lightweight champion KJ Noons and challenger Yves Edwards, a bout that was originally scheduled for April, according to The Fight Network.
Although not regulated by a state athletic commission, MMA has a fanatical following in Hawaii, where organizations such as ICON Sport thrive.
