Patrick “The Predator” Cote will climb another rung on the UFC’s middleweight ladder when he returns to the Octagon this summer. The Fight Network has learned that Cote will face Renzo Gracie protégé Ricardo Almeida at UFC 86 on Saturday, July 5 in Las Vegas.

What a fight. This is going to be an amazing fight, I really can't wait. Cote has been awesome lately and has truly emerged as a star of the middle weight division and Almeida had an impressive victory last fight. This is going to be a war. Go Cote!!!

im taking almeida, cote's sub defense is sub par. but at the same time cote can knock you out at any moment.

I dont think Cote's ground game is going to be tested at all. Its never going to get to the ground. Cote by 1st round KO.

Good fight,Hope the UFC can keep putting together solid cards with fights like this.Nice to see that there is still some ineteresting fights at MW outside of Silva ,Cote could be in line if he gets a win and Almeida will only be on his way up with a win.

this fight is very intriguing to me. the X-factor here is if Cote can keep this standing and score the KO before Almeida can get him in a dangerous position. i am going with Almeida here (i am a little biased so take it with a grain of salt) for i believe that Cote will not be able to avoid the ground and that Almeida is technical enough on the feet to avoid the KO before he can take it to the ground. i see Almeida getting a submission in the second round since, as others have stated, his ground game hasn't looked the best of late. look to see Cote frustrating Almeida in the first round on the feet and then in the second watch Almeida score the takedown and submission.
