On April 19th, Rich Franklin returns to the Octagon to face Travis Lutter in what may be one of the Cincinnati native’s biggest fights ever in terms of determining where he stands in the division he once ruled. Past history has shown not only Franklin’s talent, but his resilience, and it’s this grace under pressure that has defined him. Can he get back to the top? Only time will tell, but for now, we’ll revisit Franklin’s defining moments.

The jerk could get back to the top if he made it his sole intention to take Anderson down.

Does anybody find it funny that in 2005 beating Ken Shamrock put you in title contention? It only has been a couple of years, and so much has changed!

Quit crying. Anderson raped him twice. ANDERSON IS BETTER.

why are there so many Rich haters? The guy is an awesome fighter, with great heart.

Just put yourself in his shoes. You just got totally owned by A Silva (First Fight) Then you have to come back and fight him again, and your HAPPY? The guy has Real True Heart, and Big Cojones, and even after both fights, he showed maturity, great sportsmanship and class that goes above 95% of all MMA Fighters. To Rich!

I can't speak for the rest of the group, but I've never been convinced by Rich ever since his win against Shamrock. Personally I don't understand how a win against Shamrock (at that time in his career) put Rich in title contention.

Until Rich convinces me otherwise, to me it looks like the UFC wanted to make Rich into a poster-boy (and understandably so) and gave him more credit than (IMO) he deserved in a number of his wins.

Rich can only beat who is put in front of him and with the exception of The Spider he has done so, convincingly most of the time too imo.

Stop the Rich Franklin hating the guy is a great fighter. He's beat everyone that the UFC has put in front of him except for Silva. What more can you ask from the guy? We all know the 185lbs. division is weak so why are you harping on him for not facing anyone. He can only fight what is offered to him.

wtf are you talking about you butt-plug. I know Anderson won. I picked Anderson to win. This thread is about Rich Franklin. I'm saying stylistically, Rich would have a better chance if he took him to the ground and tried to pound him out or win a decision... retard.

they described the machida fight inaccurately, it was a front kick followed by a right that put him out.
