Following his recent win over Dustin Hazelett at UFC 82 in Columbus, Ohio, welterweight contender Josh Koscheck officially became a free agent. FiveOuncesOfPain.com (www.FiveOuncesOfPain.com) was recently granted an opportunity to speak with Koscheck but when asked about his current contract status he made it clear that he has every intention of working out a new contract with the UFC.

During the course of the interview, Koscheck also renewed his campaign for a match against former UFC welterweight champion Matt Hughes while also taking the opportunity to respond to recent comments made about him by Diego Sanchez.

I'm not a fan of Koscheck at all but that was a really good interview. It seems like Kos might be maturing a little bit.

Everything he said made sense to me........ Even the part about Hughes to some degree.

I would LOVE to see that fight.

I used to have very little respect fore Koscheck because how he acted before and right after the Diego fight. But, I'm starting to gain some of it back. Although I so want to see another fight between those two. Diego was sick with a real bad staph infection before that fight. He deserves another shot at Koscheck.

Kos is the most over raited figher out there... the only notable win hes got is a win over a half dead Diego... he got tooled by GSP so bad he looked like a kid that had never been in the Cage before... Kos is only a top 5 becase hes not gone against the 5 or 6 in the div hat would tool him around (hughes Serra Diego(when healthy) Karo) Kos will never see gold around his waste in the UFC

there's still some unfinished business there with Diego and they should definitely fight next.

I do agree with the part about Hughes... Fitch should get the next title shot after Serra-St. Pierre and Hughes should have to fight the Parisyan-Alves winner.

you sound like a diego fan. i am sick of people using his staph as an excuse. if it was so bad then why fight?? wouldnt be an issue if diego won. get over it. kos is top 5 because hes a solid fighter. gsp schooled him?? no gsp schooled hughes twice and won a dec over kos 29-28 i believe. serra i will say is top 5 because hes champ but once he loses to gsp he will drop far
