In a recent article for Yahoo! Sports, Dave Meltzer takes a look at the upcoming 7th season of the Ultimate Fighter.

In the article Meltzer discusses the impact the Ultimate Fighter has had on Mixed Martial Arts and to a greater extent, the UFC. He also has quotes from TUF 7 coaches, Quinton Jackson and Forrest Griffin regarding the skill set of the 32 cast members.

More than any season to date, the 32 names are largely unknowns, with nobody even at Danzig’s experience level. “A lot of guys came from good camps and were at a good level,” said Griffin, who estimated five or six of the 16 who made the house would survive on the UFC roster. “There wasn’t anybody I would call a standout. The show did a good job of evenly matching the fighters but there’s nobody who is going to upset Anderson Silva.”

Interestingly, Meltzer also reveals that the usually light hearted ‘Rampage’ and Griffin don’t get along very well.

The pairing of Griffin and Jackson makes you think there will be a lot of comedy, given the duo’s vibrant personalities. And according to UFC president Dana White, some does exist. But White said one of the episodes saw the problems between the two get so heated that it nearly turned into a coaches’ fight. Similar confrontations in Season 3 with Ken Shamrock and Tito Ortiz in 2006 led to two matches, which took the popularity of the sport to a new level.

In addition to all of that Meltzer named all 32 cast members. The list is as follows:

David Baggett (4-2)
Matt Brown (4-2)
Erik Charles (0-0)
John Clarke (5-2)
Daniel Cramer (0-0)
Tim Credeur (9-2)
Clarence Dollaway (0-0)
John Hall (3-3)
Nick Klein (3-0)
David Mewborn (0-0)
Mike Marrello (7-1-1)
Jeremy May (5-5)
Prince LaDonas Mclean (4-5)
Aaron Meisner (2-0)
Reggie Orr (4-5-1)
Matthew Riddle (0-0)
Jeremiah Riggs (1-0)
David Roberts (5-7)
Nick Rossborough (0-0)
Amir Sadollah (0-0)
Patrick Schultz (0-3)
Brandon Sene (2-0)
Dan Simmler (0-0)
Jesse Taylor (6-2)
Cale Yarbrough (0-0)
John Wood (6-3)
Luke Zachrich (7-1)
Paul Bradley (5-0)
Steve Byrnes (6-1)
Mike Dolce (3-4)
Gerald Harris (6-2)
Dante Rivera (10-2)

Thats the thing no one has ever seen Forrest angry. I know that I'm a laid back guy but when I get mad it's not a very fun time. I see Forrest either going insane or building it up until the fight.

Also I'm so excited to see Forrest get a title shot. There is probably a couple of guys that deserve it more than him, but no one shows more heart and determination than Forrest. I hope the best for him no matter who he fights. Forrest will be an unforgetable fighter in MMA history.

This may sound crazy, since I am a Liddell fan, but I would love to see Forrest get the belt, even though I like to see Liddell try to take the belt back from Rampage.

One more edit. Forrest looks bigger than Rampage in the above picture.

Looks like it could be another interesting season. I like that they said that the fighters are all pretty close in skills, so there should be some good fights. It will be nice, since their hasn't been a really great show since the first 2 seasons.

Did anybody else notice how big Forrest looks in this picture? the That took me by surprise. I knew he was a big "205'er" but he makes the MW guys look tiny.

Forrest isn't just a big 205er, he's friggin enormous. He walks at around 240 when he's not training. I don't know if there are many bigger guys that fight at 205.

The only one I can think of is Overeem, and he's staying at HW now...

Some of that tension has to go with knowing you are fighting the other guy soon. Another part may or may not be Rampages tuff guy attitude he plays around with. For example, when he was on that fight science show bulldogging the host and acting like a bad-ass. You act like that with other fighters who are just a "tough" as you are and I can see problems.

I'm just speculating of course, I have no clue how either of them act around other fighters. I do find it hard to believe that Forrest got upset without being provoked though.

David Mewborn?!?!
He trains here at the HC Gym from ATT of Georgia in Athens, same place where Forrest started, so I guess that will be a pick for team Forrest if he make it to the next 16.
Nice! local talent I guess I should root for him... Go Team Rampage, and David too.
