I like how nobody in the HW division has more than two defenses. That's kind of odd actually lol.

Its the power difference at that weight. The % of a knockout happening with the heavyweights is just to great on both ends for a consistent streak to form IMO.
Unless of course, you are fedor.

HW- Anderson (after he pwns Lesnar in the first round)
LHW- Anderson (after Lyoto retires to give mercy to the division and Silva gets the left overs)
MW- Anderson
WW- Anderson (when he gets bored for a weekend and pwns GSP)
LW- Anderson (Get's in a horrible plane crash over the sahara desert on way to pwn Fedor and severely mangles leg, gets it amputated and realizes he can make weight to pwn BJ Penn for that belt too.)

What if UFC did a Prix?
Now that I think about it, I'm not sure. But what if UFC did remove this interm bullshit and just be more dedicated to good MMA?
Manny P. and Mayweather turned down 40 million over bullshit.
What if MMA had simply good fights and more organization?

MW needs to be updated. Add a defense (Maia) to Silva's record.
Also...LW needs to be updated. Edgar beat Penn.

Hughes also could've had another had Royce Gracie decided to cut a little weight. Dissapointing.
also he would have had one against Joe Riggs but he couldn't make eight either. if you count those two it would be 9 defenses in total for Hughes which imo solidifies him as the greatest champion of the UFC to date.
The total number of defenses shouldn't be the sole reason in why someone is considered the greatest champ of all time. Hughes defended his title 7 times, (9) really and Anderson's done it 6 times, (7) if Lutter makes weight., so obviously Hughes has the edge there, but look at the quality of opponents. Now Hughes beat Sakuria, Newton, Castillo, Sherk, Trigg 2x, and BJ, plus his two non title defenses. Silva, on the other hand, defeated Franklin, Hendo, Cote, Maia, Leites and Nate. The advantage in this area goes to Anderson because of the quality of fighters he's defeated as champ. Now also, you have to factor in the time period of MMA in which they fought. When Hughes was ruling his division, MMA was not what it is today, not even close. The fighters were not as well rounded as they are now and did not present the dangers in all facets of the game as they do now. Now I know the Maia and Leites fights arent great examples of this but there's a difference between skill and fear. Anways, the quality of a champion contender has dramatically risen since Anderson has took the throne and for him to continually and almost efforstlessly defeat them and defend the title makes me think that he is already the most dominant champ in UFC history. No disrespect to Hughes or any of his opponents, but Anderson has this....and the title as the GOAT of champs.

dude ive got to disagree with your assessment of talent that hughes and silva have fought as champs. the guys matt fought were all considered top talent at the time, hell even castillo only had one loss at the time and that was against a former UFC champ and he had a win over nate whos one of the guys anderson beat as champ. greatness is very much measured by how great you were in your era, and none was as dominant as hughes according to the straight facts of W's as champ, although anderson is getting to be right there with him at this point. another thing to consider is that hughes has beaten GSP and BJ penn, both of whom have been top P4P fighters for a few years at least, although it could be argued that hendo and rich are only a half a step down over that same period.
