Anderson Silva needs to move up and fight chuck liddell thats what the fans want to see
imagine anderson moves up and relinquishs the belt and trains rich franklin to fight dan henderson wow
Actually if Silva moves up I think he deserves to fight whoever is champ in that moment
You couldn't be more on point. Rampage vs Silva

Man I was really thinking of going to this event just for this fight. I really hope this fight still happens later down the road. I think this fight would even be better than Wandy vs Chuck was.

This fight has a bigger impact for sure than Liddell- Wandy, just because it's a later fight. (Not taking anything away from Liddell-Wandy, It was a huge fight years in the making.)

I think the UFC will make Wilson Gouveia, Chuck's next opponent. This is a pretty decent replacement fight though, considering who is left out there unscheduled. For starters Gouveia finishes fights, he has one decision win on his record from '03 and all of his wins since then (6 - he is on a 4 fight win streak) have been ko's or subs. His only loss in the UFC was a decision loss to Jardine, and it has been a while since I have seen that fight, but I remember feeling like Gouveia should have got the W on that, but that's nethier here nor there. I know it's not on the same caliber as a Liddell/Rua fight by no means at all and it doesn't seem like anyone wants to see this fight, but Gouveia could present Chuck with the same problems Jardine did. Gouveia's leg kicks seem to be more fierce then Jardine and Gouveia seems to like to throw them more. Jardine might have heavier hands, but Gouveia proved he has decent ko power in his hands as well with his recent ko of Lambert. Lastly and probably a non-factor with Liddell's take down deffence, Gouveia's has some decent submissions (not sure wat be he has in jj though?) I wouldn't bank on this fight selling many ppv's if it was a main event, but it should be a good 3rd or 4th fight on the card.

What a lame ass. I was really looking forward to Chuck laying it on him. Very dissapointed in shogun.....
We need ANTI PROPS for f***ups like this imo, like youtube has and their post dissapears once 5 people have hated on it
Hmmmm so this is horrifiic news, just the same day as i was about to look at buying tickets for my 1st UFC one of the main fights gets wrecked, i wasnt loving that fight that much but now that i think about it anyone else fighting Chuck would just annoy me so it looks like i have to wait longer to go to a UFC, cant justify that money to watch Chuck (a fighter i have never liked to watch) in a weak main event fight, the vera werdum fight is good and the swick davis fight is great but i dunno if they are worth the huge amount of money it would cost me to go now

Put him in against Houston Alexander. That would be a great stand up fight. You never know, Houston may even get the upset.
Of course thats provided he comes through Fight Nighrt unscathed...

Im 99% sure thats what they will do, big payday for Houston that he cant really refuse, just over 2 months which should be fine unless is gets cut or knocked out, but i refuse to go that event if that is the main event, id want a proper ufc main event for my 1st ufc, not a "slugfest" designed to satisfy the casual fans

I would like to see Hendo jump in there or to cancel the Evans/Silva fight and have Evans step in. I'd love to see a real test for him since the Ortiz fight simply leaves you wondering.

It sure sucks when an athlete gets cut down do to a knee injury just before his big break (Dennis Dixon) Shogun was in this mold. He had an incredible rise it is just too bad he couldn't become champion here in the US. One of my favorite fighters of all time!!!!

You're right i guess it was a poor choice in words. This whole thing seems a little weird though considering the fact that the UFC's poster boy Chuck has absolutely no intrest in fighting in london so there for maybe Shogun who is probably still not 100% just worked something out with the ufc so that he could get more recovery time and chuck wouldn't have to fight in london. thats my conspiracy theory for the day fellas. haha

What about...Antonio Rogerio Noguiera? I know that he is fighting in Canada and still has two fights left on his contract, but Big Nog talked of Lil Nog dreaming about fighting in the UFC.
Plus, I'm surprised that more people haven't mentioned Henderson.

I think A. Silva vs Liddell would be huge. Both a-class strikers slugging it out. Best in the world vs UFC poster boy. What more do you need to sell PPVs? Anderson already said that he'll move up if the UFC tells him to. We all know how much Dana loves Chuck. I think this has a more possibility than Henderson moving up.

Anderson Silva anybody?!
chuck doesnt deserve to fight anderson. if anyone from a different weight class should get to fight silva it should be the champion from the other weight class, not someone who is 1-2 in their last three fights
