But Hendo was never the guy mentioned most to beat Silva, that has always been Lindland who was always the top ranked MW fighter in the UFC with Franklin

What about the guy that ALREADY DID - Takase. Some nice GnP followed by a sub.

I think the same would happen in a rematch. Even back then Silva was the heavy favorite and Takase just straight up outclassed him. I think Silva has enough pull to try to get the UFC to bring him in for at least one fight so he can try to avenge that loss.

A lot of people complain about "Japanese cans" running amok in Japanese MMA and are not deservant. Yet when they beat top fighters, everyone disregards these accomplishments. Fact is, even Mizuno looked better then Eddie Sanchez, at least not running away the entire fights and mounting some kind of offense.

Whoops, I messed up and meant to include that quote in this post. But ICSlegend is right, Takase manhandled Silva that fight. Anderson didn't even have a chance, I would love to see a rematch and I think Takase would come out on top again.

I also think his other notable loss to Chonan, would be a good one to rematch. Anderson seems to have trouble with the submission guys, we saw that when Travis Lutter had him close in that UFC match.

I honestly believe that Yoshihiro Akiyama can beat him (ignoring his loss to Banner early in his career, TKO by knees, as in his later fights he showed superior defence, kang, manhoef). He is above average with his hands and feet and is a superior grappler. If you watch this guy he plans his submissions while he is in the clinch, always manouvering his hands to the best position.

Are you sure?

"Didn't and can't" get beat? Are you serious?

Fedor has never been defeated. Anderson got straight up owned by Takase and finished by Chonan. Not to mention he has been dominated in portions of his fights (even though won), whereas Fedor doesn't even drop rounds. Totally different scenario then Fedor.

And yeah, Akiyama has a good chance of beating Silva as well. More then Dan anyways.

Matt Lindland or Filho are the only guys left in 185 who stand a chance

i think cung le could beat him but too bad he fights for strikeforce

Joke Reply

I think Lindland and Okami would lose.

I think Almedia has the best shot.

Maia might lose to Herman...Maia is no Almeida or even Lutter when it comes to BJJ.

Well actually he kind of is.... his bjj is phenomenal. I would put him above lutter, maybe not almeida... maybe, we'll have to see how it adopts into mma.
