Zuffa won the first battle in its ongoing war with Randy Couture yesterday, as Judge Jennifer Togliatti granted the company a preliminary injunction barring Randy Couture's participation in the International Fight League's event Friday in Las Vegas.
"Randy Couture is enjoined from engaging in any promotion or production of events or programming related to unarmed combat during the February 29, 2008 event," according to the minutes of the hearing.

is this the reason why the Xtreme Couture is no longer in the IFL, or at least changed their name to Team Tompkins???
I think this is a big hit to the IFL, becuase even though they probably will be the same fighters and everything, Xtreme couture is much more marketable than team tompkins, sinced he is relatively unknown.

This is sad. I can see this kind of shit ruining the UFC. Its no like he is fighting there he just wants to support his fighters. This is way a lot of the top fighters don't even want to fight there. To make it worse they are not only controlling who he fights but his own business that is messed up.

honestly its what he gets for walking out of his contract...don't feel sorry for him in the least. i love him as a fighter and he is one of my idols but this is the price you pay when you mess with business executives who own your contract. you can't complain when you refuse to fulfill your contractual obligations, he knew this would happen the minute he left the UFC.

I agree, what did he really expect to happen?. He could have had one more fight off his contract by now instead of complaining about it these last few months if he was so anxious to get out.

Those who advised Couture to not respect his signature and to act like if he was above the law because he live in vegas are not helping him at all, they are trying to brainwash him and i hope he will wake up before he lost completely his reputation.

so the IFL dropped the ball "programming related to unarmed combat " they should have made it armed and everything would be cool, stupid IFL degenerates!
