I guess I was just hoping for something more along the lines of a Fox deal

Is this the big announcement?

Yup, it's pretty big too IMO. It might sound stupid, but think of how much the UFC is making from this sponsorship.

then pay fedor his money tell M-1 to screw themselves and lets move on

I was also hoping for the fox deal. I wake up this morning and read that EliteXC is now on tv. I expected a big response from the UFC. Basically they said "Well weve got Bud Light"

And yes i realize its a big step forward for the UFC to be getting a huge sponsor like that (instead of Mickey's) but i expected them to fire back with a little something more.

Oh and Bud light sucks. They should get some Keystone.

Its a bigger deal in terms of PR, not money. The one thing the UFC has not done is land major National and International sponsers. The big one they had was Xyience and now they are out. Budwieser is the largest beer distributer in the world and is associated with all the largest sporting events. Now they are with the UFC. As has been pointed out in the other thread. EliteXC was on Showtime, and CBS is owned by Showtime. Basicaly the same company moving some programming.

...and I picture Gary Shaw clenching his fists and yelling "WHIIIIITE, WHIIIITE !!!" like Captian Kirk yelled "KHAAAAN, KHAAAANN!!!"

KHAN! KHAN!

i don't know how smart this is. letting the fighters drink beer during fights is not very wise imo

Harley Davidson and now Bud Light, the UFC is not going to be beat by any others organization soon !!

Next step should be a Fox deal and bang !!
