"Why did he fall over? This is clearly fake, it's one step up from WWE, I could easily take one of those kicks, it wouldn't hurt"

I didn't even bother arguing back.

The worst I really ever hear is the same old "They're a bunch of pussies" or "He lost this and/or that fight, he sucks now" and of course that ground fighting is immensely boring.

As someone who is a grappler mainly.. I can understand how to someone who does not understand the fine line two top grapplers are walking and how a simple mistake can lead to a broken bone or getting passed out or such.. to the untrained yes grappling can seem quite dull... Its like watching chess.. if you do not understand the game.. yea it is very dull to watch...

My girlfriend's dad always says stuff that cracks me up. "Now, can he go for the boston crab from that position?"

"When he's got him in the choke why doesn't he just punch him in the face?"

"I wonder how one of these guys would do against my old Tae Kwon Do instructor. He's pretty good."

Offer to put him in a choke and have him punch you in the face. When he wakes up maybe he'll be convinced why they don't do that.

I've used a similar tactic on other people that think martial artists are jokes and it has always worked (at least to shut them up). Some times people need to learn the hard way.

I would but he's my GF's dad so i kind of have to stay on his good side. I do the same thing with my friends tho. One of my buddies argued with me by saying that slaming was an effective way to defend the triangle. I insisted that against a good bjj guy its not a high percentage technique. He needed a demonstration so I put him in a triangle, hooked his leg when i tried to pick me up, and watched his face turn purple. I did the same thing in a NAGA match and my oponent almost passed out.
