Talk to the “Nightmare”, Diego Sanchez, and you’ve entered a dialogue with raw unfettered determination wrapped inside a New Mexican mixed martial artist. It seeps into every statement that Diego makes, small or large, and keeps you alert, for you don’t know how optimistic you will rise with him.

Sanchez is a good fighter with that fu ck it lets fight mentality. He is always game and goes 100 percent. But i think he will slip into the role at 170 as the gatekeeper over a little time.

the dumbest thing he could of done was leave Jacksons camp... Greg Jackson is the new Pat Militich... bout 3 years ago MFS had 3 of the 4 UFC belts and all held them for a rather long time... Hughs held his best for ever as did Jens and that Ogre Silvia.. even Rick Franklan was training with them some when he was champ... Now enter Greg Jackson... hes got GSP which is one of the top P4P fighters in the world and the Interium WW champ.. as well as several up and comer... Deigo was stupid to leave... a smarter guy would of wanted to train with GSP who is the best WW in the world in the cage its all buisness...

Diego left because of the way Greg Jackson treated him. They took in GSP, and that was a statement too Diego that said "Cut too 155", ill try and find the entire article, but Diego was shown Greg Jackson's Priorities were of GSP and not Diego.

Makes sense, but theres no denying that there would be advantages to training with him.

diego viewed it as bringing in the guy that stood in the way of him winning the ww belt. most other people saw a lot of other obstacles that were making wearing the ww belt a very long term goal, and maybe not a realistic one at all. i like diego the fighter but what can jackson do, turn away GSP? he is running a camp and a business and have no doubt he cares for his guys but you cant just turn away a guy who brings that much publicity to your gym, and gives you the chance to have another champ in your camp...

Diego also thinks in his mind that hes still a top 5 WW and should contend for the title this year.... in reality willing the WW title is a very long range goal for him hes not where he needs to be as a fighter to get the belt with Fitch and GSP in the picture, and hell i bet Serra would beat him too i'm about 99% sure Serra jits is better then Diegos

Koscheck didn't even come close to finishing hospital-bound Sanchez. Fitch could do nothing by LnP and almost got tapped. Sanchez is a contender in WW if you've ever seen one. With that being said, he'd murder everyone in LW besides BJ Penn, so maybe it does make sense for him to drop.
