okami needs to finish a ******* fight before he runs his mouth about anyone, especially an "american" like big tim who probably had the highest pain tolerance i've ever seen in MMA. if they continued that clip of mir busting his arm in half then okami could have seen him get up and insist he was fine and try to keep fighting with his arm torn to pieces before herb dean tells him its over. he didn't even seem to notice he had a new joint in his forearm.
so yeah, maybe end a fight before the bell before you criticize anyone's style pal. and getting your face kicked off by anderson silva doesn't count. ha.

I'm not really sure who Okami is? Is he the guy that won a fight by DQ because his head got kicked into the 15th Row? Not real sure who he is or why he's going on about American Style. Guess someone needs to be known.

I'm sorry but didn't Tim Sylvia get his arm snapped in half by Frank Mir and still didn't tap, and as a matter of fact, was mad that they stopped the fight. Granted, it was probably still numb and he would definately feal it more once the adrenaline wears off. But still, he didn't tap then. Okami can keep running his mouth about the "American Style" but he still can't beat Franklin, an American.
Steriods are amazing for pain I hear.

Hah, just when I thought Okami was the most underrated fighters and that he was never really talked about... he goes off and says this.
At least we know you know Yushin.

Americans are the biggest talkers...in everything...we love when fighters talk trash. Japanese fans hate it when fighters talk trash and see it as disrespectful (for the most part). All it is, is a Japanese fighter talking trash...that just makes him more american, gets him more pub, puts his name out there (most americans do't know him), and makes people want to see him. For all we know his agent and publicist TOLD him to say this so that a little known Japanese fighter could get some face time.

I think that statement was taken way out of context. Also think the statements about "the bomb" landing on his face, and them being mad about losing the war was taking to a whole other level it didn't need to be taken...
I've heard plenty of ppl talk about how the Japanese has big hearts but weak chins, and I've heard it said before by AMERICAN pride commentators how the Japanese fighters tend to spend more time refusing to tap to hopeless positions, and how in comparison that is different than the American fighters who will tap when they know they're not getting out.
I don't see Okami's statement as an insult, I think it's just a widely felt perception that American fighters are smarter about when it's time to tap and not take potentially career ending injurys for no reason.

truth. I've also heard Joe Rogan say, "the japanese are wierd" on a national telecast and no one got mad about it. The japanese fan loves the fighter who has more heart even if they lose. the american fan wants heart but prefers a winner. If you lose too much in America...you get thrown out with the trash.
Unless you are a Gatti or Ward fan. Or a Paz fan. Or a tito fan. (I'm not but that guy still has more fans than almost any other dude in mma).

Yep. Americans don't understand the mindset of the average Japanese MMA fan.
Japanese organizations tend to showcase fighters with losing records on a regular basis simply because they put on a good show (they love flashy entrances) and because they have gigantic heart. They fight anyone, at any weight, at any time, multiple times a day if need be.
I was shocked when I first started watching Pride a few years ago to learn they have cross weight class fights, and tournements where fighters fight 4-5 times in 1 night.
Most American fighters are too concerned with their records, and would NEVER risk a blemish by fighting a guy 2 weight classes above them, or fighting 4-5 times a night.
THIS is why Japanese fighters are warriors.
