With Filho's recent statements about moving up to LHW how do you think he would do against arona?

Arona by decision, i dont think either will be able to submitt each other, and i see arona controling the pace of the fight, and controlling filho on the ground....

Arona is a decision machine. I don't think there is anyone without a very high level wrestling or judo pedigree who he doesn't end up on top of in a grappling match. Although, despite being an ADCC champ, he never submits anyone. Between the two of them, they have one good technique standing (Arona's low kick), so it's tough for me to see anything but decision.
I don't advise that Filho goes up in weight. The match with Sonnen showed the limitations that his height gives him at 185. That would be even more pronounced at 205 and there would be fewer guys he could push around with his strength at that weight too (guys like Arona).

I think it would be very similar to Arona vs Lister. A couple of ground wizards going at it with Arona out powering him. It would have the potential to be a very boring fight, or an amazing display of ground skills.

I think other then Fedor and Josh Barnett, Arona is the fighter i most wanted to see come to the UFC. I'd love it if he would sign with them but even if Filho is moved from WEC to UFC and he moves to LHW I don't see them making this match. Similar styles but seeing as Arona is bigger and stronger and probably better at MMA grappling/wrestling in the first place I would have to give him the edge

With the way Filho has looked lately I would have to say Arona would win by decision or possibly a ground and pound tko. Filho was getting his ass handed to him through much of his first two WEC fights. Making mistakes against Doerksen and Sonnen are one thing but against Arona one mistake could mean your death (aka a boring lay and pray decision by Arona).
