Also as I've read some of the posts on this fantasy baseball subject, some people prefer Roto and some H2H. I myself dont really care one way or the other although if i had to pick id prefer H2H. My question is for those who like Roto as it is your preference why is it better than H2H in your mind?

Man thats gotta be tough being a Pirates fan, definatley much respect in that fact.

Yeah its tough..I mean i dont really follow baseball all that much..I watch espn and visit all the websites im up to date with most things..But yeah being a Pirates fan is tough... i guess im a fan by Default of location.lol....Its not as hard being a Steelers or Penguins fan cause they normally make the playoffs and have quality teams and players. Its the Pirates ownership that is ass..The Nutting family are assholes...Great moves this year...We bring in a coach who had a losing record in minor leagues....Get real..Its shame cause the Pirates are kinda one the Historic teams in baseball with Clemente,Wagner,Maz Forbes field and the awesome team they had when they won the world series back in the day.Its depressing when you have one the nicest parks in baseball and you cant sell out the seats even when tickets are like 8 bucks for good seats....

Personally, I enjoy H2H over Roto because you have fun throughout the entire season...even if your team sucks. I look forward to pulling off upsets if I'm out of the running for the league championship.

In Roto, 9 times out of 10 there are maybe 2 or 3 teams that pull away from everyone by the All-Star break and after that, what fun is it for the last place guy? It's nearly impossible to gain any ground if you're last (or in the bottom 1/3 or so) in the league.

Fortunately you've never played Roto against me. Worst-to-first second half comebacks are actually my specialty, that's how I won my first (and to date only) Roto Baseball Championship.

And by your own admission, it's a rarity for that to happen.

I don't mind having a head-to -head as a side thing. In my home leagues we give what amounts 10% of the money to the head to head winner, in the form of a weekly winner prize. 55% of the $ goes to the over all points winner 25% to all points 10% to the 3rd place all points. For me it's a matter of personal perspective. I have only finished lower than 3rd place in a fantasy baseball league 4 times in 20 years of playing . I once destroyed a online league by 800 points in the season total, only to have the 4th place total points guy claim victory becuase it was head -to-head. Thats the reason why my most free leagues are H2H based. When it's free most don't care too much if they stop paying attention after a bad start. Doesn't seem fair to me is all ,that in order to appease the inattentive, you punish the person who had the best overall season. So total points is the main goal for me. H2H just a curiosity to keep all active. Just my opinion of course.

IMO the H2H type of league is good. Yes hippysmacker is dead on with the point thing, you could have the most when the season ends but because of bad luck u lose your league semi final and finish 4th, happened to me to and it sucks. But the real good thing about H2H is you have to no choice but to return every week because u wanna beat the other guy, have the better team than him, tweak your team just right to win every possible game. I love fantasy sports all in all

Bad luck is part of the game. The Patriots went 16-0...that didn't guarantee that they'd be in the Superbowl. That's why they're called upsets.

I prefer H2H myself, but I'm up for anything. I'll do everything I can to make it for the Live Draft, but I may just have to set a queue. I work long hours during the week, and I have a 10 month old son, so weekends can get busy.

It's always a good idea to Pre-Rank your players just in case you happen to forget and/or can't make it to the draft.
