Wow they have him ranked 7th.I would have thought at least the top 5. I would have put him as #1 but that just me. I don't see how they can have Gomi as #1. This is the reason a lot of people say the rankings are a joke. Matt Serra beats GSP with a lucky punch and he is number one over night. But BJ is ranked 7th...

apparently the ufc are in talks with gomi.. if he ends up in the cage, i see him unable to deal with sherk, penn, stevenson, guida, and maybe even florian.. who knows, maybe guillard would be too much for him.

Any list that doesnt have Penn at #1 is terrible. Especially if it has Gomi at #1. He hasnt fought in forever and he lost to nick diaz. Penn also destroyed him a few years ago.

Penn #1 IMO long before he had the title. I hape he stays at LW and does not try to go to WW.

did i miss a memo or something? i can't understand how joe stevenson is on anyone's top ten list or how he got a title shot. he beat melvin guillard and kurt pellegrino. does this mean rich clementi is getting the next title shot?

Putting Penn at 7 is an insult to anyone who read those rankings.

Joe also beat Dokonjonosuke Mishima and Yves Edwards both of which are good fighters. Dont get me wrong Rich Clementi is a good fighter but I don't think he could beat Kurt Pellegrino. In my book Pellegrino is also in the top 10-15. Just because Joe lost to Penn doesn't mean he still isn't a top 10 fighter. I don't think there is a 155er that could beat Penn right now.

when wasnt he number one, he smashed gomi with no problems who is considered by many as the best, and even beat a guy in matt hughes at welterweight who is way better than sherk
