Apparently the UFC is no longer going to allow Affliction to sponsor it's fighters. Affliction affiliated fighters include; Randy Couture, Georges St. Pierre, Rampage Jackson and Chuck Liddell among many others.

According to numerous sources within in the industry, Affliction will be starting it's own promotion and the UFC is unhappy about promoting a potential rival.

Hmm fairly childish but also fairly good business mindset as expected of the shrewd UFC

If Affliction start his own league, it is perfectly normal to no longer have them in the UFC.
Do you see a lot of M-1 logo in a UFC event ? IFL logo ?? HDNET logo ??

perfectly logical business decision.

It's probably because of Couture, a bit of a leverage move.

Does M-1 sponsor fighters and make clothes?

It's stupid to make your own company unless your going to be a breeding ground for the UFC like the WEC which obviously this place won't be.

The UFC will ALWAYS be the #1 MMA organization in the world so these other companies should just quit trying.

It makes sense to me, but even if I disagreed with it, it doesn't mean that much to me.

I like hearing news liek this because I feel it helps one understand the business aspect better. I mean, would Coke start to allow Pepsi to rent logo space on its can? No. I agree with the UFC. Probably nothing personal, just business. And while UFC is a private organization, its the best organization going now, even if the champions are deemed "club champions," as the president of Elite XC states. Sorry Kimbo, but UFC's lightweight "club champion" (BJ Penn) would destroy you any day.

Where does it say anything about alienating fighters?

There's a reason the UFC is the #1 MMA promotion. Wise business moves/decisions. Bottom line.

The IFL, M1, and HDNET (even if they started clothing lines) are fighting organizations first. Affliction will always be a clothing line first unless they start their own organization. The UFC should compensate the fighters for what they would have made on the sponsership if they ban them from wearing it.

read it carefully !!

" According to numerous sources within in the industry, Affliction will be starting it's own promotion "

The UFC would have never banned affliction if they were selling clothing line only , that's the point here, Affliction want to start his own promotion witch will make them a direct competitor of the UFC.

And as soon as others clothing line will know that Affliction is out, they will sigh numerous top fighters in the UFC right now. Clothing line who are just waiting to have a chance or to have a spot in the UFC will be there for fighters don't worry.

I think this hurts the UFC's fighters, they are paid to wear the clothing, so it's just money out of their pocket.
