UFC Sean Sherk, a former UFC lightweight champion who was stripped of the title after his his suspension from a failed UFC 73 drug test was upheld by the California State Athletic Commission, says he will next fight in April — possibly at an April 19 UFC 84 event in Montreal.
In an interview with sportsnet.ca, Sherk said UFC officials recently told him he’d fight in April and that he hopes it’ll be at the Montreal event.
Sherk hasn’t fought since July 7, when he posted a unanimous-decision over Hermes Franca in his first title defense. However, the 34-year-old tested positive for elevated testosterone levels and the anabolic steroid Nandrolone, more commonly known as Decadurabolin, during the Sacramento, Calif. event. Sherk appealed, but after a series of delays, the commission ultimately cut his one-year suspension to six months but upheld the $2,500 fine. (He’s eligible to fight again on Jan. 3.)

Wow if true this card is shaping up to be a real barn-burner.

They sure aren't treating him like he's guilty. I think it's bull shit that he would get an immediate title fight. Whats the point of stripping him of the belt if he fights for the title anyway? It was also bullshit that they cut his suspension in half. Why would you do that if your still calling him guilty? What the **** is the reasoning there? Did they feel bad for him or something? If he really is innocent, like he claims, then fine I'm glad he gets to fight again. But if he isn't, (like the test showed) then this whole situation is ******* stupid. I hope BJ ***** him up.

Not likely, Tito's said before his next fight is Cinco De Mayo weekend, which means May 3 or 10 (more likely the 3rd).

It's obvious that Dana believes Sherk is not guilty. Plus why so pissed? It's going to be a great fight. Nobody else, IMO, can compete with either of these guys in this weight class right now.(UFC fighters only)
Your just mad cause Sherk is going to steamroll Penn....it's ok.

LOL! No way! A fight is a fight, anyone can win, I never bet on fights. But I can sure analyze the hell out of them. And I don't think Penn would win. Actually, i don't think Penn would win a round.
As far as Stevenson is conserned though, I don't think he will beat Penn unless he catches him or grabs his neck, Penn is too smart for that though.
Sherk will just beat him up....

Ruins whats shaping up to be a great card IMO. Sherk is basically 25 minuet's of blanket action garenteed, I ussually have a game of ping pong while he fights then come back to sherk winning a UD.

Great. Sherk is going to maul Penn and shut him up for good. Looks like if Penn wins the title against Stevenson he'll lose it before having a successful title defence again.

Yeah sherk is not an exciting fighter by any means. I hope Penn overwhelms him with some nasty punches and takes Sean "Steroid" sherk out. he doesnt deserve instant title shot if the athletic commission deemed him guilty. Sorry!
