Mauricio “Shogun” Rua (16-3 MMA, 0-1 UFC), a former PRIDE standout who underwent knee surgery after a submission loss to Forrest Griffin in September, will return to the UFC at an April 19 event in Montreal, Canada.
The news comes from GracieMag.com, which recently interviewed the fighter about the launch of his new fight team. Rua recently severed ties with Chute Boxe, his longtime home.
There’s no word on Rua’s opponent for the April 19 event, which is expected to take place at Montreal’s Bell Centre. The event — the first ever to take place in Canada — will likely feature a title-unification bout between UFC welterweight champion Matt Serra and interim champ (and French Canadian) Georges St. Pierre.

If Tito doesn't accept the fight with Machida then Machida should fight Shogun.

That would be a weird fight. We'd get to see Machida's clinch defense unless Shogun was still on a bumb wheel, then we'd just see him go for take downs and roll around lol.

Who ever Shogun fights I hope he does well. I like the guy even though I was glad Forrest got the win, I hope Shogun gets back on track and goes on a nice run in the UFC.

I think Chuck would be able to fight by then. Chuck vs Shogun would pretty much stack this card to the brim. Or if they add Jardine Chuck 2 to this card i would be impressed as well. Soko comes to mind as well however I hope they give him a can to get his mojo back.

Hey how about a rematch against Forrest!
I think Shogun is gonna have to come back and make a big statement before he gets another shot at Forrest. That's the worst Shogun has ever looked in a fight round 4 round, and I honestly think that while Shogun is an amazing fighter,I want to see him tackle on a few other opponents before he rushes back in with Forrest.

Tito's been offered Machida, and I think if he says no he won't be offered much of anything.
